The first sentence of that article reminds me of a guy I used to know who believed he was in Starfleet. He had no clothes other than starfleet uniforms and his military ones. If he wasn't in his uniform he was in his other uniform. Even took tests to graduate ranks, last I knew he'd made Commodore. And he was proud of this.
