I did not see a thread for this. For people who are as excited about the offseason, as they are the regular season --- this could get interesting. Teams like the Seattle Seahawks turned the franchise around because of two or three offseasons. I know it's boring to watch everyday, but it is the most important time in football.
I am a die hard lolRaiders fan. So I am pretty excited for the next couple of months.
Only about 27 people are under contract, with 60-65MM in Salary Cap. They have a #5 Draft Pick that could land anyone from Manziel to Clowney to Watkins. Any three of these players would be the immediate star, top jersey seller, and thought to be franchise corner piece.
With 60+MM to spend, this is the offseason for it. Free Agents that fill Raiders needs include:
Pass Rushers: Greg Hardy, Jared Allen, Michael Johnson, Michael Bennett and Brian Arakpo.
Cornerback: Alterraun Vernon, Brent Grimes, Dunta Robinson, Vontae Davis and Walter Thurmond III.
Safety: TJ Ward, please.
Wide Receiver: Jeremy Maclin, Eric Decker and Emmanuel Sanders.
Running Back: Maurice Jones-Drew, Knowshon Moreno and Chris Johnson will most likely be cut from Tennessee.
Quarterback: Michael Vick?
Most teams have never been in this position before, to have a new starter at every major skill position. I'd like to see some thoughts from everyone. And hear about other teams.
I was impressed with Carolina and Arizona this year. I think this offseason is a huge factor on which one makes it to the elite level next year.
