BLM, back to the top again?

I know its not a very healthy thing to do, but i have been thinking...

Until today, SCH has been a better nuker than BLM.

This is a fact - SCH might not have as much base MAB, but it has enough skill to cap resists on mostly everything, and - most important - has way more endurance than BLM.

Since nowhere where you are nuking stuff you are doing quick fights, endurance of the mage is the biggest factor there is.

All of this is old news, of course.


Now that the cap got raised to 80, both jobs got Convert from /RDM. It doesnt help close the gap - Both jobs got it, it is exactly as useful to the BLM as it is to the SCH, but the SCH still has much better MP efficiency with 10% lowered costs and Sublimation.


The next level cap might change stuff a bit though. At 41, both jobs get Refresh.

What does that mean?

For SCH - Nothing. 4mp/tick sublimation is still better than refresh, 3mp/tick sublimation is as good.

For BLM - Quite a bit. 3mp/tick is much better than 0mp/tick.


SCH will still have Dark Arts and all other abilities that should still keep it as a better nuker, but things might be a bit closer. Then again, it wont be enough. We have RDMs right now that give BLMs refresh, and it is not enough to keep up with SCH.



Now - If RDM ever gets Refresh 2, it will even out both jobs on the mp recovery department. Then we would be looking at a dispute between -10% cost and the extra SCH abilities or extra MAB from BLM.


What do you guys think? Will BLM ever be able to be a contestant for the best nuker in the game again?

Something something special olympics. At the end of the day most nongimp DD(my observations, maybe you guys have better blms) can halfassedly outDD mages even when the blm/sch have a cor while the DD is hoping it even gets haste casted on. That being said in lowman manaburning situations where sch and blm shine because they can nuke it really doesn't matter too much if one job is 45 mp more efficient or some shit.

I don't know if people notice this but...casting refresh on yourself is basically 2 ticks instead of 3 b/c of 40 mp cost...

That's why Blu's 200mp/50cost refresh = the refresh a rdm would cast on you. SJ refresh is basically 110 mp/cast and 440 every 10 min.
