Port Blocking Question

So i am at a hotel and i can get on fine to FFXI but my coworker is trying to get onto EQII and its not letting him on. He knows what port he needs just wondering if there is any way to see if the specific port is blocked or not. Tired calling the front desk but like always they dont even know what a port is

Any help is appreciated.

And this is the same laptop he uses at home to play EQII so its not his computers issue.

call the front desk and tell them if they could connect you to IT (Which is usually 1 or 2 people).

Thanks but this is Montana and this hotel fails...IT=some old lady that does not know what a router is

Just thought there might be a way around it but if not no biggie...its only EQ2

He went to a coffee shop to try to Down Load the update they just put out today but the speeds were so slow he only got 10% in 2 hours so he gave up. He is really hating Sony at the moment but i am kinda laughing on the inside....
