Upcoming Version Update Details (02/14/2007)

In the upcoming version update, we plan on introducing the next segment of the Treasures of Aht Urhgan missions, as well as a number of new features and improvements that will make your life in Vana'diel more enjoyable than ever before!

New Missions
In the next version update, we will be continuing the Treasures of Aht Urhgan missions where they left off in the October update. The next installment will include the appearance of new monsters, the four Mamool Ja overlords, the mysterious Dark Rider, and many other surprises you won't want to miss!

Merit Points
A new graphic effect will be added that will let surrounding players know when you have gained a merit point. Also, you will be able to switch between experience point mode and limit point mode in any area, not just your Mog House.
*You will not be able to switch modes while under a level restriction (such as in a battlefield or during an Assault mission), or when participating in Besieged.
*Allocation of merit points will still only be possible within your Mog House.

Item Storage and Card Cases
The NPC who stores certain equipment sets will begin accepting relic-level armor in the upcoming version update. Also, the arrow-bundling NPC has expanded her wares to include cases that allow you to carry 99 corsair cards as one item.

Map Marking
The next update will see the appearance of an NPC that will mark your magical maps to make it easier to find those special NPCs, such as the minstrel of melodies, and the item storage NPCs.

Took em long enough to do Relic Storage. This potentially cuts down space by an ass load.
I say potentially because I'm sure at least some people toss the useless pieces. ._.

To be fair, they should allow you to store pieces rather than sets... I'm 5/6 on WHM with only the belt missing. I hope they let you store pieces rather than sets or if they store sets, it doesn't have to include the accessories...

It would be awesome if you could store individual pieces.

COP-Dynamis Belt/Capes being a requirement is about as likely as the current AF sets requiring the weapon.

Yay no more forgetting and going straight into limit mode when you hit 75, or not changing to merits on the way to an ENM...

Nah iam also always in EXP Mode.
Only thing this is good for me, when I died once on a job forgot to exp back and go to ENM >.<. But now I will use it for sure to switch between EXP and Merits.

Omg yes, even if it doesnt change a thing for me since I will always keep buffer capped, no one is going to be able to use that excuse anymore when they downlevel to 74.


But man, why is the main feature of an update something that should have been done years ago.

I deleveled to 74 for like the second? time ever, the first time I was freshly 75 this time I just ate a few too many low raises and home points and just kept forgetting to set to exp on ENMs :\ (I hate meritting on RDM, I'd rather jump off a cliff)

Will the big stuff be saved for the last couple of weeks...like always?

I tend to do ENMs just after doing something like Salvage/Dynamis/whatever where I die just once or so, knocking 600 off my capped xp, then forgot to swap when like half way up Ulu Range. Much swearing generally follows.
