So I finished them but now i want moar! I'm not a real big comic guru cept that I like Marvel and I have a couple of Sandman novels. So what do you guys recomend? I liked 100 bullets, don;t know if its still going. And ultimate spider-man but I'm a spider-man fan so my opinion is biased.

    Re: Comic Books

Where to begin...Y the Last Man & Fables by DC are reprinted in graphic novels. Both are amazing stories written by equally talented guys.

Most anything written by Alan Moore is great. Pick up V for Vendetta(waaaay better than the shitfest movie), Watchmen, League of Extraordinary Gentleman & his early collected works of Swamp Thing.

I am not a big Neil Gaimen fanboy but the Sandman series is excellent.

My personal favorite writer is Grant Morrison. Pick up such great books as Arkham Asylum, The Filth, The Invisibles, Doom Patrol & his run on New X-men.

If I think of anymore I'll post later. These should keep you busy & entertained.

Agreed. Astro City and Rising Stars are two more "traditional" superhero comic stories also available on quality Graphic Novel racks. Batman: The Long Halloween comes to mind. The original Books of Magic series.

    Re: Comic Books

Oh yeah, The original Books of Magic 4 issue miniseries by Gaimen was good. I believe that Harry Potter is a rip-off of the Books of Magic main character, Tim.

I forgot to post earlier another great writer, Brian Michael Bendis! His run on Daredevil was legendary, better than Frank Miller's run in the 80's I think. He is currently writing New Avengers & Mighty Avengers. Pick up some of his collected work like Powers & Alias. Also Ultimate Spiderman is a good read.

In regards to Frank Miller, I feel he jumped the shark in the late 90s. Dark Knight, Daredevil, Martha Washington & the older Sin City are classics. All his stuff afterwards was meh. All Star Batman? Trash.

And depending on your stomach for fucked up stuff, you might want to look into some Garth Ennis and the darker Warren Ellis books.

Yah, Ultimates 3 is abysmal. Suicidal Hawkeye is suicidal. Who cares. Ultimates 1 & 2 are the most badass action movies you ever saw reading a comic book. Mark Millar & Bryan Hitch ftw.

Preacher. Sarcastic and witty ass kicking. Excellent writing.
As mentioned above by a few, Books of Magic are a pretty good read.
The Dark Knight Returns is one of the most well written comics I have ever read. It's sequel is good too, though far fetched. There are a number of great non-Frank Miller Batmans out there also, though someone who's better with the series should speak up on that.

and... its too late for me to think of any others, if I remember I will update with more.

Jeff Smith's Bone. Can find the one volume edition for like $26 or something, which is something like 1400-1500 pages. It's also being re-released in color volumes.

Fables, as mentioned, is a good series. Alan Moore stuff, etc. I liked the Sandman series as well, if you haven't read all of that.

I can't believe I forgot Sin City. If you've seen the movie, you'll recognize the three stories, panel for panel. There are about 7 Sin City full volumes you can get, though, and I would recommend them all.

I also recommend Matt Wagner's Grendel and Mage series. Grendel in particular is a little more unorthodox in style, especially later in the run, but a good read nonetheless.

QFT The Bone series is amazing. Great art, great story.

I also read the Akira graphic novel series which is great if you like the movie then you should read the books. It expands a lot on the story. Also in my collection is all the Groo comics which are always fun.

because it's as far as I read before my situational ADD kicked in and I don't know about anything further than that.
