Suddenly, mysterious invaders called the Septentriones arrive in Japan and begin attacking the country on a Sunday. To fight back, the heroes in Devil Survivor 2 signed a pact with the devil to become the Thirteen Devil Messengers. The Septentriones show up at least once a day and you have a time limit of seven days to defeat them.
"The protagonist is a third year high school student from a metropolitan area. He got involved with the Devil Messenger group by accident while returning from a mock exam session. When he awoke he became one of the Devil Messengers together with Io, a classmate at the protagonist’s school. As an honors student, Io has brains and beauty. She’s said to be the dream girl for many young men. Daichi is also from the protagonist’s school and he’s a childhood friend. He’s a deep thinker even though he has a habit of making light of the harsh situation."

Shin Megami Tensei: Devil Survivor 2 Keeps Nintendo DS Alive In North America

Get ready to take a trip all over Japan because Shin Megami Tensei: Devil Survivor 2 is coming stateside. The Nintendo DS sequel to Devil Survivor follows a kid who gets caught in a battle between mysterious space invaders while walking home from cram school.

You get to decide which of other twelve devil messengers join your side by recruiting them. Once in your party, you build bonds with a system similar to the Social Links introduced in Shin Megami Tensei: Persona 3. Forming strong friendships increases battle effectiveness in Devil Survivor 2.

Surviving or keeping characters a live is a key part of the game. Just like Shin Megami Tensei: Devil Survivor certain choices lead to permadeath. A macabre website lets you see who is on the chopping block. With this knowledge, it’s possible to save lives – including your own. The choices you make lead to one of the multiple endings in Shin Megami Tensei: Devil Survivor 2. Will you join Yamato and the Geomagnetism division or another faction? Better question, will you actually save Japan?

The invaders are coming to Japan in July and next year in North America.

Devil Survivor was really fun for the DS. It's the only SMT game I've played before. Totally down for this.

I've never really been able to play a normal SMT game from start to finish because they're really, uh, hardcore? Not really the word, but, idk, I usually lose interest in them part of the way through. ):

I have the first game, at the ending. Haven't finished it yet because every path makes you feel like a douchebag. So i kinda walked away for the time.

Atlus USA teases localization of DS2: Break Record

Atlus USA have sent out holiday greeting card via their Atlus Faithful newsletter, and it looks as though they might be teasing a localization for Devil Survivor 2: Break Record for the Nintendo 3DS.

The girl in the “A” is a brand new character that appears in Break Record. As reported in the past, Break Record is an updated version of Devil Survivor 2 with enhancements to the original story, as well as a lengthy new story that takes place after the original game’s events. It’s slated for release in Japan sometime in 2014.

The card links to this website, where you can see the Atlus logo in full. The “A” includes the girl and the protagonist from Devil Survivor 2.
