5 levels, is WHM worth finishing?

Ok, my WHM has been 70 for the past several months. I been levelling BLU with my free time, but my past 2 nights off, I seeked 14+ hours each day and got no party, and there were only DDs seeking (Tanks, Healers and Refreshers are rare at this level), so I was wondering if I should toss the white clothes and condom hat on and get my last 5 WHM levels to atleast kill time while a new batch of players make their way to 55+

So you lfg'd 28 hours total and got no PT? You:

1) Suck at WHM and no one wants to PT with you.
2) Got no friends to PT with.
3) Are waiting for invite without making any PT.

I usually PT with my friends when they / I reach like level 67 with 75ish, and it works fine. As WHM70, you should be able to find a PT fast enough, by making one, or inviting your 75ish friends, or just random 75ish. Sure you won't get as much EXP as them, but you'll get way more than just trying to make a 70ish PT, or lfg for 30 hours with no invite.

On a final word, depends if you plan to play WHM. You get Regen 3 at 71 (I think? Not sure, been a long time) Hierarch Belt for 48mp, later, Zenith set if you have any, and the most important of all, Reraise 3 at 75.

um... please don't ban me or anything for saying this, but if you still wear the condom hat at 70, then please, stick to BLU... for the sake of the people you would otherwise pt with...

There are a few different good choices for headgear at that level, I myself was fond of Raven Beret, for those times I was stuck with a 'tank' who only knew Utsusemi and no other spells... A lot of my friends do well with Gold Hairpin or Faerie if you can afford it.

On a topic more closely related to your question, though, I found that 70 was the hardest lvl to find a pt for as WHM, since a great deal of parties want to have just a RDM or a BRD, it seems. I think you might not have much more luck with WHM than you have been with BLU, I don't remember the last time anyone said "lolBLU"...

(feel free to mock my post count, I read this board all the time but never have anything worthwhile to contribute, a trend I feel is likely to continue with this message -- but it's 4am, so what the heck)

Seriously if you have to wear a raven beret in xp, or even cure for that matter, your party is horrible.

Dia / Haste / Regen / Flash / Curaga rarely do i use single target cures. If I have to cure anything its a -ga that slipped through or that stupid cursed sphere.

is it worth getting around 200k xp to almost never have to lvl the job again, and get some extremely potent endgame merits? hell yes. ShellV and devotion are hot, and reraise 3 is just awesome to have, for a variety of uses.

Our puller for dyna has switched to WHM/NIN (with gaiters) because RR3 > Hairpin.

I think 70-75 is an easy stretch for WHM... Since you can tag along with burn parties or even with the vast majority of people being 70+ now, EXP is fairly easy to come by.

The 75+Merits for WHM is very nice, worth the efforts to get IMHO. I'm still working on merits, slowly, since I have been leveling other jobs too.

I'll echo others on this, RR3 is worth it alone, lol. I capped EXP on WHM and it has stayed capped for most of the time... I get enough exp at events and merit parties to keep it on EXP mode with Merit rollover.

I was wondering about this, so if i cap my EXP it sends the xp points to limit points?

The guy doesn't have a 75 job, no need to hold him up to certain standards for equipment (ie the headpiece issue). I can't remember the last time I looked at a WHM and cared what gear they had, as their equipment has relatively little impact on the outcome of an xp session.

And yeah, the xp will fly from 70-75 - but if you don't like/use the job then getting 75 and merits is losing BLU time.

The AF1 head isn't *that* bad, if it's used situationally. You could go for one of the hairpin's, burn off the MP, and switch it in for the MND+4 and Emn-1 if you're too cheap to buy anything else for the slot. It's better than just sitting there with a slot that's technically doing nothing once the MP has been burnt off. In xp parties, I would find that I almost never had a chance to rest to full, so having only a +MP hairpin choice never benefitted me that much. Raven is better as it has more -emnity and Errant/Mahatma is a far better switch in choice after 72 (errant is ridiculously cheap too on my server).

Using a condom hat at that level and nothing else seems kinda dumb, I'll agree. It's a lot of -emn or +MP that is being lost. But I would far prefer that over a the high level WHMs I've seen running around in V.Cloaks and WHM AF1 legs anyday. +3 Vit 4tw?

As for the OP - it's 5 more levels and then it's done. I got incredibly bored with RDM and it sat at 72 for about 6 months or so. I'm so relieved it's finally at 75 and I only have to pick it up when people need me on the job. Being a WHM you'll probably get asked to use it quite a lot either at endgame or when helping people out with BCs and what have you. You're already 70, so I imagine you've been asked to R3 ho enough anyway. Having RR3 only benefits you so you can't go wrong there. Just be prepared that if you have a 75 WHM people will probably want you to use it. I have BRD and RDM both at 75 as well and, unless it's a meripo PT, I'm usually requested on WHM...
