    FFRK - Dawn of a Legend & FFI 30nd Anniversary (I) Event & Strategies

This is a little bit of an odd one. The event itself the the 'Dawn of a Legend' event way back when that introduced Master and Matoya with the main difference being the U++ Chaos fight has been upgraded to A++.

There is a token 30 difficulty dungeon for the "new" event, but yeah.

Oh, and theres the whole FF1's NA anniversary isn't for another 2 years.

"I'll admit you have the courage, but have you the wits?" - Warrior of Light

The Warrior of Light is calm, stoic, tactical, and focused, solemnly believing in Cosmos and that her victory will come as a result of the valor of her warriors. Determined and confident in his abilities, he pays no heed to the taunts and attempted manipulations of the villains he battles.

Though he grows concerned that they know something vital he does not, he continues to believe in the light and struggles onward. Even Cosmos is unable to sway his resolve, the goddess concerned over the growing risk of the battle, and the Warrior telling her that she taught him to always keep fighting. The Warrior's unflappable demeanor often makes it hard for his allies to understand him.

This is honestly Warrior of Light: The Banner.

If the Warrior of Light is your thing, pull. Keep in mind that WoL/Garland tend to appear on Dissidia banners, there is a better light chain a mere 2 weeks away, and there is not a new FF1 torment in JP to date.

    Future Event Banner Comparison:

No new FF1 event to date in JP.

    Element Boosts:
    Spoiler: show

    Banner 1:
    • Wind: Thief LMR
    • Holy: WoL AOSB, USB, BSB, Sara BSB
    • Dark: Garland USB, BSB

    Ultra EX/Chase Type Glossary:
    Spoiler: show
    Rules of thumb:
    1. Stat buffs from the EX mode have a unique ID and will stack with everything.
    2. Many USB’s come with a built in class damage boost. These are separate from the iteration class boosts and do stack.
    3. EX modes last 15 seconds, while buffs provided by the USB entry last 25 seconds. (Terra is an exception, with her EX Mode lasting 25 seconds).

    Special Effects:
    • General Boost: These can be anything specifically tied to the EX Mode - HP Stock, Crit Fix, Cast Speed, Ability Boost, Stat buffs, and even Break Damage Limit. This will stack with every other buff on the user, including other EX Modes.
    • Rank Boost: This provides a damage boost scaling with the rank of the ability used. The boost starts out at ~5% for R1 increasing to ~30% for R5+.
    • Chase: Follow up attack(s) triggered by using abilities of a specific element or school while under the EX Mode. The number of these chase attacks can be random, reliant on the rank of the ability used (Rank Chase) or status of the user (Status Chase).
    • Cycle: Unit receives a quickcast or instacast charge when using abilities tied to a specific element or school – generally meant to be used in repetition for maximum effect.
    • Build Up: A gradient damage boost toward a specific ability school based on the number of ability uses from the start of the battle to when the EX mode is applied. This buff is not tied to EX mode duration, and will persist whenever the EX mode is active.
    • Wind Up/Finisher: Generally applying to Summoners, this will provide additional damage based on the sum total of all type (class or element) damage done during EX mode when the mode expires. The unique aspect of this is that a recast of the USB will count toward the exit damage of the previous EX mode.
    • Phantom Cast: This effect will auto cast an attack every few second at a set rate independent of the character. The number of attacks or potency is not reliant on any outside factors (Haste, Slow, QC) and will generally produce 4 actions per EX Mode.
    • Cheer: This will grant a party wide effect after using a triggering ability. For example, Marche will triple the cast speed of every front row party member (himself included) for 1 turn after he uses a Knight ability.
    • Ability Double: This will guarantee that an ability will cast 2 times per use at the cost of 2 hones. The first cast can trigger appropriate W-Cast materia for a total of 3 hits, but the additional hits will not generate SB gauge.

    Banner 1:

WoL gains 3 new SB's: an Arcane, an Ultra, and a Glint.

His AOSB is pretty standard 3x overflow holy element hits.

His new USB is 10x ST holy/non damage with en-holy and EX Mode 'Prophesied Warrior' - granting a Knight class damage boost and a 1x holy overflow damage attack when EX Mode ends based on the total amount of holy damage done.

WoL's glint is a standard CT0 en-holy stack. His CSB and BSB are here as well to round out his tech.

    Returning Items:

    Garland: USB, BSB
    Sara: BSB
    Master: BSB
    Thief: BSB

    Banner 2:

    Garland knocked it down.

    Legend Materias:
    • Banner 1 - WoL: Begin battle with en-holy.
    • Banner 1 - Garland: Trance. Self heal 100% and Quickcast.
    • Banner 1 - Small chance to trigger a medica when using Bard abilities.
    • Banner 1 - Your GP or your HP, with a dagger equipped.

Of course. The only way to enhance your abilities is to bring an ancient dragon god the tail of a pestilence ridden rodent.

    That'll show him.

Also, the title is not a typo.

Really, the only difference here from the previous event is Chaos being upgraded. So here it is.

    Ultimate + Apocalypse Battles

    Chaos (Apoc ++)
    滅Chaos
    HP: 600,000
    Target Score:
    • Defeat Chaos with 2 or more heroes not KO'ed.

    Weak: None
    Absorbs: None
    Resist: Omni (50%)
    Null: None
    Vulnerabilities: None

Notes: No AoE stop to deal with this time, so yay to that. Instead, you must now worry about AoE paralyze on a physical attack. He can also cast a ST Slowga.

He is mostly magic based and can do water damage, so if you opt for Gigas Armlets pack a water resist armor. As mentioned above, there is the one AoE physical hit that can paralyze. It's up to your judgement to bring heavy physical mitigation in addition to magical, but at least a protect is recommended. If you're bringing Vaan for his BSB, pack Mug Bloodlust just in case.

Much of Chaos' arsenal early on can be Grand Cross'ed. Though through phase transitions he gains more and more NAT type attacks.

You can worry about haste on Chaos if you want. 580 speed is kind of still in that "zone" where it can matter.

Similar to the Crystal Tower fight, there is a possibility you do too much damage too quickly which can trigger scripted AoE attacks and make it difficult even with 2 healers. None of them are piercing attacks, but can still add up if you trigger them quickly in succession.
