Hey! I've been SAM tanking all the way up to 51. Granted, with a PL you get a weee bit more MP to curebomb with but I'm still suprised how many times I barely have to cure thanks to Seigan/ThirdEye. It's a shame it's so random so it's as useful as utsusemi

Not that it's relevant to a DRK tanking, but especially at that level with a PL it doesn't matter who is tanking, a WHM/WAR could tank for all I care >.>

Ryko and I have a word for when a ranger gigas either goes after the whm because of hate, random aggro, or while zoning due to either of those reasons, subsequently causing the gigas to catapult it in the back of the head, killing it.

I still remember when the whole "AFK easter egg hunt" happened. I was on shell at the time. I think ryko wasn't even mad for like the first 10 minutes becuase he was just shocked. Like "nahhhh that didn't happen. Couldn't be"

Random merit invite I got the other day on PLD/NIN consisted of this: MNK SAM DRK THF RDM (Galka, lol) and me. When I asked what subs the SAM and DRK were taking, both replied THF. Yah, we had 3 people trying to sneak attack WS on the mob at once. SAM randomly used spear for SA-> Penta Thrust, Galka RDM used Thunder 3 to pull on several occasions (guess he didn't learn his lesson after the first reflect hit him). I think we got like, 6k/hr at the Greater Colibri camp.

Level 14-15 range party in Buburimu. I'm doing my best to get a party there, because no one parties there anymore and I'm sick of dunes.

Anyway, so the last person I invite in this solid party is a THF14. What I didn't notice is that he is /BLU. This will important later, I'm a MNK/WAR atm and party set up is RDM RDM PLD MNK SAM THF/BLU.

The THF has no ranged weapon, so the SAM and PLD are both forced to pull.

Okay, so first fight: We pull a Dhalmel... kick it's ass for most part. You see I don't expect much from THF at this level. They don't have much to offer before Sneak Attack. But this THF... he is spamming Sprout Smack and Sandspin for maybe 2-3 damage tops.

Second fight: He rests the entire time. At this point "I'm like... holy shit, this isn't happening".

After a couple more fights, I ask everyone in /tells if I can kick him, they say it is okay. I do /sea all and I see that there is a level 14 BLM seeking in the same zone. I say "I'm really sorry, but I have to do this" and I kick him. I invite the BLM and all is good.

10 minutes later he starts to /tell me. "Wow, that was really stupid, that BLM has 3 level different". (The PLD hit level 17 by now). I ignore it, but he continues. "So stupid, why did you even invite a mage? They are so weak and die in only a couple hits. No defense and no HP". I told him that BLMs are very useful. Then he points out the fact I'm a Tarutaru MNK, which is even dumber. I ask him to please get over it and it's not a big deal. He seems completely oblivious to why I kicked him and I don't want to deal with it. He seems to think I'm new to the game, I don't blame him I guess, I'm only Rank 2 Sandy atm because I'm lazy.

He lives me with this little cute message: "I'm never going to forgive u and as far you are concerned ur FFXI life is over".

Was in a party in Yhoator. Party was DRG, BLM, BLM, NIN (using GK) and people who came and gone. We had a PL. This was that person's gear:

PL pulls hate while we get a link. He starts running around, the Goblin starts using Bomb Toss, everybody starts to die. The PL's HP falls dangerously low. At the same time, me and the other BLM are resting for MP. We just needed 100.

We both laughed after as party disbanded cause PLer and his friend had to leave, and we'd been at it for a few hours.
