All worlds server maintenance on Sunday

All Worlds Maintenance (Jan. 14)

At the following time, we will be performing maintenance on all Worlds. During this period, FINAL FANTASY XI will be unavailable.

We ask that players who are scheduled to enter Assault or Salvage areas, Dynamis or Limbus at the time of the maintenance wait until it is complete before entering. Please note that we cannot replace items that are lost during the maintenance process.

The following issues will be addressed:
- Game would not proceed properly by selecting the "Let it play with others" option during Kamp Kweh.

- An issue where a chocobo raising related option would be displayed during the "The Amazin' Scorpio" quest.

- An issue wherein the game would freeze while typing during an area change.

- Items which are obtainable from the "Chocobo Hot and Cold Game" will be adjusted.

don't see much reason to complain about a sunday 9am-noon maintenance.

I can think of things to do with those 3 hours.

That one's pissed me off for a long time, lol. I hated when I'd crash because i'd send someone a tell mid teleport.

Depends, if you wake up at 6-7am in the morning you might get an exp party with some late night PST's but yeah once it hits noon u might just as well go solo

In over three years on PC, I have never even known about this bug, let alone have it happen to me.

Fish Ranking > Chocobo Hot and Cold. They're both worthless, but at least Fish Ranking didn't need stupid maintenences.

It's never been a problem for me, and I'm on PC.

I've zoned several times with my chat input line open (that little bar that pops up at the bottom of the screen when you begin typing but before you hit enter). It's never frozen once. I've even continued to type while the screen is fading out and never frozen. So I've typed during an area change many times, and each time the chat bar would still be up after zoning and I'd just continue typing without an issue.

It's never been a problem for me, and I'm on PC.

There's a specific moment when zoning, if you press enter (or O controller) as you teleport/warp/zone, the game hangs. Nothing to do with typing or not, it's all to do with sending the message out apon zone.

I've crashed my game at least 10 times now from that bug, glad they are finally fixing it......but yeah, fixing major things would be nice, this looks like just some random maintenance again. ;/

It's happened to me alot, it sucks when you try to rush type something in /l chat before you zone only to have it crash your game.

Yeah, it's limited to if you try to -send- text while you're zoning. I'll usually leave a line open to send once I zone in to avoid it, and so rarely have run into it. However, it's a complete game crash to the desktop if it happens.

But every time they update or fix anything its eu primetime

Out of curiosity, what 3 hour block falls in neither of those primetimes? Should suggest it to SE in the next letter from bercus!
