I'm doing this tonight with my Linkshell for the first time... Any tanks have advice on what to do?

Uh, this is all second hand info from a friend who told me about it, so take it with a few buckets of salt. He said that tanks just kite it along the little valley thing and stop for WS and stuff. A lot of the DD just sit along the valley and wham it as you go by.

He does not change targets while casting meteor.

The basic strategy is kiting it, like Kirin.... except instead of StonegaIV, you need to run from meteor which goes sooner than StonegaIV. He also casts it very very frequently, and if you are unable to reliably run away from it, you will lose.

The strategy we use consists of a RDM starting the fight with Gravity, then runs. Nobody does anything until it starts casting meteor, at which point everyone goes crazy on it, and the RDM(who is the only one with hate) easily runs out of meteor range. After that, we stop attacking, and whoever has hate(usually a blm) kites it until it starts casting meteor again... and repeat.

I know there's an all-BLM LS KS99 farming LS on my server that beats it with pretty much all BLM's.

If this is your first time, I highly recommend everyone brings RR gear.

Also, when he dies, he will do an instant cast meteor that does about 2000 damage to everyone around him, but when that happens you know you've won.

Did it 4x last night, and got a shining cloth drop for the first time in the 20+ runs we've done it.

Don't stop for WS. They can WS when it casts meteor. Don't stop at all unless you lose hate. The meteor is very fast and hurts a lot. If you can't out run it you'll lose.

Get a good tank and a few BLM's... We have a tank in our LS (Galka Garret!) who can hold so much hate its not even funny. His magic resistance is almost null (I had maybe 1 resistance a fight in all DD gear, no skill+)

Chat filters are important. Have EVERYONE filter out, so that the chat filter icon says ON (this seems to confuse people? I don't know... The circle has to say ON for them to be filtered OUT)

And make "Special actions on/by you" unfiltered (Circle says OFF). With these chat filters, you will see

Chlevnik starts casting Meteor

ONLY when it is being cast on you; when its on anyone else, it will be filtered. This way you will always know who meteor is being cast on, and that person can run away from Chlevnik while everyone else runs toward him (This means that even if meteor hits that person because they were too close, it shouldn't hit anyone else) Make sure everyone has a /shout macro that they hit AS SOON AS THEY SEE meteor being cast on them - this lets everyone know to get the hell away from him.

Another small hint - he will use Meteor at 1% and it will drop him to extremely low health. We have had times where everyone screams "DEAD OMG WIN" and rushes to the box, and nothing happens... You must do at least SOME damage to him after his meteor, for god sakes just drop a Bio on him and go grab your loot.

it is "assist mob" basically - will target what the mob is looking at.

have all your dd/tanks make a macro like -
