I usually face my monitor. It's facing east, which means I'm facing west. Uh, btw, how does this matter? The game can't know which direction I'm facing, can it!? Good thing I close my eyes on HQ attempts. If I can't see them, they can't see me.

My RL buddy asked the developers this question at the last event in LA- and they told him direction has no bearing on synths.

I used to face SE or W with Earth xstal synths, but now, I don't even worry about it. Last night I happened to be facing SW and I HQ'd a nobles. I don't believe direction does anything.

Do you face west when you're rolling a dice ?? I face north west, I tend to get better luck that way. When I'm playing poker, I must be facing south, if I'm not facing south, I'll get shitty cards every time. But if I'm facing south, OH SHIIIIT hide your wallet son.

Random number generators are not truly random and can be easily influenced by any number of factors that the programmers want. Direction, last digit in your gil, elemental resistance, third letter in your name, number of deaths, presence of subligars, signet/sanction, etc could easily (but do not) cause slight changes to the way pseudo-random numbers roll if the generator is programmed that way. We have no clue how the generator is really programmed, so we cannot say with any certainty what if any factors contribute to the pseudo-random number generator.
