Set in the Himalayas

Far Cry 4 will be released in the first half of 2015 and be set around the snowy mountain ranges of the Himalayas, Eurogamer can confirm.

The switch in location marks a drastic change for the adventure series, which is usually more associated with sandy, tropical locales. But it will also pave the way for some new features - such as the ability to saddle up and ride elephants, people familiar with the project told Eurogamer.

Far Cry 4 is still some way away, but we understand that Ubisoft is currently aiming to release it during the next financial year (before the end of March 2015).

Our first official glimpse at Far Cry 4 will come much sooner, however - the title is set to be shown off in some form during Ubisoft's annual press conference at E3 in June, one source said. Expect PC, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One versions. We're unsure at this stage whether current-gen versions are also in the works.

Far Cry 4's gameplay will remain similar to that in Far Cry 3 - presumably including a large focus on hunting local fauna. The world's map will be structured in a familiar fashion too, a separate source said, with outposts for you to liberate.

if they manage to expand on the amount of activities you can do, this'll be amazing. I loved Far Cry 3 even though it was remarkably simplistic in terms of content.

I did a little bit of research into the supposed protagonist's name, because I was interested (warning, I am not an expert in the slightest).
Ajay, pretty easy, is most likely a shortened form of the Sanskrit/Hindi name Ajaya. This makes sense since the blurb mentions a mother's dying wish to go to your (inferred) homeland -- think Beerfest.
Ghale was a bit harder, because I am lazy and most last name search tools are for Western names. That is until I realised that the Ghale people are one of the native Nepalese ethnic groups.
TL;DR: In my opinion you're going to play a first/second generation Western (likely American) person with at least a maternal fictional country heritage not dissimilar to Nepal/Far-North India.

I've never played a Far Cry game. What's the draw to 3? I've been skeptical of Uplay. Should I bite the bullet and get it???

Free roaming non-linear story, great fps. First and only ps3 game i was motivated to get all trophies on.

Details on the PS4 co-op without owning the game was just given on the Giant Bomb stream. Every game gets 10 co-op invites with allow friends to d/l a small chunk of the game. Story mode cannot be played while this co-op is in effect and it's a timed event.
