dont run windower while updating, that problem happened to me when I had windower running with updates..it sucks, I even re-installed (theres some other way u can get around that, forgot how tho..try searching like Alla and stuff) but ya, dunno if that will fix your problem, but it wouldnt hurt to try

This happened to a LS member of ours. Another member posted the fix, which Il'l just copy + paste. Thank Pikarya.

easy fix, goto start > run > regedit

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE > SOFTWARE > PlayOnline > InstallFolder

Now make sure 0001 has your FFXI directory set, 0002 your TetraMaster directory, and 1000 your PlayOnline directory. Most likely, 0001 will be blank. Now find out where your install directory for FFXI is and set it.

Then, in PlayOnline, you can either check your files or attempt to log in.

It happens if you interrupt the installion process during the version update. Most commonly it is like when everyone was posting pictures of it waiting on a skipped file. If you don't sit and let it finish itself, it will corrupt the installation, then move to regedit stuff.

i should have made it clearer, I have a shortcut that sits on the desktop which is linked to windower, if i wanted to load through pol directly i would have to go into the start button, programs etc and I was lazy and just hit that. That is why you see it.
