Dear Joss Wheaton,

Please stop making comic books.

It makes me very sad when I read Astonishing X-Men because afterwards I hold other comic books to a higher standard. A standard that, sadly, most writers are simply incapable of achieving. I fear that if you keep writing comic books companies will stop will stop printing them out of shame for hiring incompetent writers.

For the good of the comic book industry, I beg you, please stop writing comic books.

P.S. I just had an idea. Instead of you not writing any more comic books, how about you convince comic companies that they don't have to hire shitty writers, and in their place hire writers who understand pacing, pathos, character, and how to write twist endings, like the fucking best twist ending in comic book history. (Astonishing X-Men 17.)

P.P.S Astonishing X-Men 17 was one of the best books I have seen in my life. If you have not read it, gentle viewing audience, I suggest that you pick it up and the rest of the series so you understand how it got there.

P.P.P.S. Seriously, it is a shame that other people are allowed to write these characters when Mr. Wheaton does such an indescribable job.

HBO would be a very interesting place for a show like Serenity/Firefly to end up on. To the best of my memory HBO has never tried to run with a live action Sci-Fi show. It would be a great way for them to explore some new ground, with a critically proven show.

I feel pretty much the same way about anything J. Michael Strazynski (sp) writes. Rising Stars was arguably the best comic book series I've ever read. Midnight Nation was also outstanding. Kurt Busiek's Astro City is also excellent.

I haven't read X-Men in years, maybe I'll pick up a copy. Would it have any impact on someone who hasn't read X-Men in 5-7 years?

EDIT: Watchmen was the best comic book series ever. Rising Stars is in the conversation for second.

Too bad he did not fucking finish it. He waited years, then he released another issue... iwth shityy fucking art. I gave up after that, and he still has not made another issue since that.

It is finished, actually, and wraps up quite nicely. Probably a year or so ago. But yes, the art did suck for the last story art. But by that point, I was just so happy to have the series finishing, I didn't care. The two mini-series that came out after ther series finished were mediocre, but JMS didn't write them.

It finished? I dont remember hearing about that. I remember more than what's his face being alive. I was expecting him to be the last one alive... based on how the story started. You know... him telling it and saying "I'm the last one"

gonna have to disagree with you there. while generally good, millar ran the authority into the ground and I'm not incredibly fond of avengers disassembled/new
