    Strafing while Grav'd

Did you know that - no matter how strong the Gravity is that you have on - you can still move at normal speed if you have a target locked on and strafe wiggle yourself from left to right.

Stop making a sad face if you have Tripple Gear Grav on and your WHMs Erase Timer not up for you. Lock on a new target and strafe wiggle yourself towards it!

You can also change gears to temporarily escape the effects of Bind. If you make a smash macro for changing gear you can pretty much blink your way out of Bind until it wears

Yes, you can move left/right at normal speed, but are you actually moving forward any faster? I always thought it was just to make you feel better ._.

if you straf to the left/right with some forward up pushing (easiest on controller) you do accually move forward faster. (enough up to move forward but not enough up to make the movement animation change into the walking forward, keep the left/right animation movement.)

also I'm pretty sure it's not "normal" speed, it's still reduced, but not as much while abusing this trick.

If you make your right / left so that you're going the forward you want to go, then yes it is faster.

It´s not so helpful on average strengh Gravs. But on a full 3x Gear Gravity or Hydra style gravity it makes tons of difference.

hmm I never tried it with a Keyboard only with an Analog Controler - does it work on a Keyboard?

Honestly, I have known about this for a bit. Being a THF (and having to circle around mobs way too much), I always realized going side to side oddly negated Grav. But, since I have Flee to negate Grav, I never really cared. Another fun one is to make your toon blink when doing a JA (like Flee), you will ignore the animation and just start running (if you do it right.)

I knew this, but I kept it a secret because I thought SE would nerf it.

i discovered it while on bst punking pots in sky. if i got hit w/ grav but found myself in a nasty pocket of mag aggro, i could switch my lock to my pet (assuming it was on the opposite side of the pot) and use that to whirl out of range and clean myself up w/o exposing myself to other mobs. granted, it only came to this when i screwed up and put myself too close to other mobs, but it's a handy oshit method to get yourself out of a pickle.

Also thought this was common knowledge. It's really easy to see if you use flee and strafe, or if you get super grav'd and strafe.

This reminds me of my EQ days, the devs implemented strafing the really easy way, so it was completely independent of your forwards/backwards movement, so you could run forward + strafe and run root(2) times faster than normal!

I used to think running circles around a mob would help you dodge attacks.
