    How do you make Ramen?

After eating a few ramen dishs at a local Japanese restaraunt, I googled "Ramen" to see what kind of picutes came up.

Some of them look like they may take quite awhile to prepare, which I am not used to, be it that I just toss mine in the microwave and am always satisfied.

I was just wondering if any of you do the same, or if you actually prepare it with meat, vegetables or eggs in it?

I take it out of a plastic bag, put in boiling water, wait 3-5 minutes, add seasoning. Enjoy.

Boil water, just enough for it to all evaporate by the end, but enough so the noodles wont stick.
    Add butter.
Add various spices/seasonings, usually garlic, cinnamon, onion, etc.
    Add noodles.
    Add meat.
And an egg at the end, and let it cook for a minute.
Add the seasoning that comes with it.

if it's traditional chances are the noodles are homemade, not the dried ones.

most important part is the broth. you want to make them separately, not just boil noodles in them together.

most common ones would be beef, pork or chicken broth. I usually take a pot of water and boil the meat in it (I don't use bullion or canned/carton shit, those are horrible IMO) along with some aromatic like celery/seaweed. sift and throw away the scum that surface. after no more scum coming out, take out the meat/celery/seaweed. Then I usually put a little miso, sake, and some seasoning.

the meat that you took out of the broth you can do whatever with it. season it then grill it just until it has a nice char. slice them and server over the ramen. I usually also put deep fried tofu in the broth, it has a really nice texture once you let it soak in the broth, gotta fried them well though, until the tofu is brown.

Usually make it per the instructions on package, with some meat or egg sometimes. You can also drain the water as soon as the noodles become a little mushy (but not too much), and then after it cools a little, add an egg and oyster sauce and mix. The egg works as part of the sauce.

My cousin had me try maruchan/top ramen a certain way and if I ever do prepare any I can't have it any other way now.

Get a small pot (enough that the noodle brick just fits inside)
    Put seasoning at the bottom
    Place noodles on top
Add just enough water that it comes up to the top of the ramen (but doesn't submerge it)
Crank up the heat to get the water boiling
Spin & stir noodles until all the water is gone
    Serve!

Nothing fancy, actually it's pretty boring but I like how the flavor gets cooked into the noodles so it's not soupy.

2-3 eggs, some lettuce tossed in various seasonings, soy sauce, maybe a slice of ham or 2

I use a sauce similar to this in style

    http://www.asianfoodgrocer.com/img/p...a_sauce_lg.jpg

but its more like "chili pepper flake" type not the "liquid hot sauce" like this bottle. (both have the same symbol, not sure what its called since its in chinese)

seaweed sometimes I add to mine, fish flakes

and if I ever get my hands on "fish cake" (white/pink thing on the left)

Just had some saimin for lunch infact.

-Pot with water and some shoyu (soy sauce) bring it up to a boil.
-Add an egg or two into the pot.
-Add in whatever kind of meat I have around the house (usually spam, sometimes hot dog or left over teri chicken or steak or something). If it's uncooked like spam I'll let it boil for a few minutes with the egg before I toss in the noodles, if it's already cooked I wait till the very end.
-Put the noodles in and pour seasoning packet onto noodles. Gives the noodles some flavor as it boils.
-Pour into bowl, add a little more shoyu, some of that chili sauce gulkeeva posted (fucking love that stuff), and if I have fishcake like suggested I'll put a few slices in.

Btw: If you can find it, Sapporo Ichiban noodles are FAR superior to that ramen crap.

    I like Mr. Noodles.

    Spoiler: show
I throw it out and get Udon.

Boil noodles in one pot, make the broth in the other 'cause when you do it in the same pot it gets all starchy and nasty. Usually boil an egg or two too and cut it up and add it in there with that red sauce stuff posted above.

I think Sriracha Sauce is Vietnemise actually. I used to work at a Korean restaurant and they had it there.
