OSU will win.
Go Blue.
Michigan v. Florida championship ftw.
Either way, UF's sitting pretty. All they have to do is not lose.
Also: Both Michgan and Ohio State have two of best marching bands around, if you're into that sort of thing. ^^
I'm not usually, but I was watching some feature about the OSU band on Sportscenter and they were talking about the whole dotting the I thing. Also they said making the marching band is as hard as making the football team (exaggerating i'm sure).
Either way, go UF. They easily have hard the hardest schedule in the country.
Maybe a slight exaggeration, but believe that it is INCREDIBLY competitive to get into that marching band.
< Long time fan of great drum cores and marching bands. The best UM game I've been to all season this year was when they played FAMU. They freaking rock.
Wrong. Stanford does, USC second (that will swap in the next two weeks). http://www.usatoday.com/sports/sagarin/fbt06.htm That being said, any SEC team has a very difficult schedule.Originally Posted by Po
Also wrong. Florida needs USC to lose to get in.Originally Posted by Res

USC undefeated is getting in over an undefeated SEC team...how much did they beat arkansas by at home again, like 140?Originally Posted by Res

The teams that even aren't that good each year, Arkansas, Alabama, etc are a lot better. And don't try and take the stance that FSU is down, that is 1 game, USC had like 7 gimme games at the beginning of the season.
You are smoking something.
No, sir. I am quoting Jeff Sagarin's highly regarded computer rankings.Originally Posted by Po

(See the link in my post)
It looks to be that he is calculating that from this point in the season.
i.e - Oregon is a better team than many thought they would be, etc.
When the schedule started it was clearly harder for Florida. Maybe his bullshit math is more credible than my opinion, so be it, it is what I feel. That first half of the season USC had so many easy games it is insane. And then before they lost they almost lost the 2 games before to shitty teams.
I am not saying I don't like USC, but they are just overrated this year. I am sure they will be back next year and the year after when Booty (or w/e) matures, but right now they are just down. And they are going to get assraped by Cal.
UF is the best 1 loss team.
I feel Ohio State has the advantage due to it being at Ohio State. I personally want to see Michigan win in overtime since it will provide the best chance at an all Big Ten National Championship. Michigan has the defense to win, so I definitely could see them doing it.
Rooting for michigan
Same, however I have a feeling OSU will win =/.Originally Posted by Daahan

After posting Sagarin's ratings, I did a little research and tracked down the six computer polls to determine strength of schedule, and their relative values. It's not nearly as concrete as I figured it would be (I thought it was based more on opponents' records, similar to the NFL, but it's not). The Wolfe ratings don't publish the strength of schedule, and the Billingsley's a week out of date, but is still useful for illustrating the point.Originally Posted by Po
Relative SOS Ratings for USC and Florida:
Sagarin: USC 2, Florida 14
Andersen: UF 11, USC 15
Cooley: USC 10, UF 24
Massey USC 2, UF 11
Billingsley (1 week out of date): UF 37, USC 59
So, strength of schedule is as subjective as overall ratings, probably even more so. So I take back my flat-out-statement that USC's SOS is tougher than Florida's.
That being said, UF's really can't be the toughest in the nation, as other SEC teams have played considerably tougher out of conference schedules. I will certainly acknowledge that SEC is clearly the toughest conference in the country, though, from top to bottom.
Two weeks ago, I thought that, but I'm not so sure about that anymore. USC seems to be playing their best football of the year right now, Cal is at a lowpoint after their loss to Arizona, and the game is at USC. If I had to bet this one, I'd put money on USC, but wouldn't feel comfortable with it.And they are going to get assraped by Cal.
I personally am rooting for Michigan and I believe they will ultimately get the win. But I must say, I am excited to see what Ted Ginn, Troy Smith and Mario Manningham will do respectvely.
Go Blue!
Hopefully the Gators get a shot at the title game if they stay true to form. I saw USC got number 3 in the polls somehow!? I guess playing Oakland CC and Portland State bi-weekly really does pay off. '.')b
Good thing the SEC sucks.
/sarcasm
Ohio States gonna take it
Arkansas vs Ohio State in National Championship
They would let Rutgers play in the Championship game before allowing such a tragedy to happen. The only "decent" team the backs have beaten has been Auburn and Tennessee with their back up QB in the game lol. They play Miss. State next I believe? (llolmsstate) and then they play LSU, in which they will be taken to the proverbial "Woodshed".
No.
