Can you repeat sea gorget quests?

I'm thinking about getting a Soil Gorget for my Asuran Fists instead of Flame Gorget, as Soil Gorget also modifies a ton of other useful WS (DE, rampage, vorpal blade, etc) that I may someday be using.

If I do go ahead and get a Soil Gorget, the Flame Gorget would be useless to me, so I would be very tempted to chuck it. However..........it would really suck to chuck it and then 10 months later realize that the true love of my life is samurai or ranger and wanting another Flame Gorget.

Does anyone know whether you can redo gorget quests? Am I safe in disposing this item with no regrets in the future except spending another few hours annhilating phuabos?

you can repeat it as many times as you want for obis, i have 4 obis and relaxing earring.

i'd assume the same holds true for the gorgets

  3. #3

Yes but if you chucked one of your obis can you repeat the quest for it?

  4. #4

yea, if u chuck it you just gotta farm up all the items for it again

edit: for melee that would mean getting a yovra ewww, i'd hold it just incase

    FYI:

gorgets dont affect multiple hit WSs such as asuran fists or so,

the modifier kicks in the first hit then its over, its useful for samurai since most of their WSs are one hit...

iv tested this but no parser available, and if you dont believe me you could try it your self...

its a waste of time to farm this shit for mnk i wish i had not wasted my time on this

Howling Fist owns the shit out of stuff with high defense.

If you use asuran in dynamis xarc or whathaveyou there's something wrong with you. (*'-')/

I've heard this both ways. I've been arguing with a WAR in my LS about the usefullness of gorgets. Personally I saw a big improvement in my NINs Blade: Jins with Thunder Gorget compared to Peacock Charm. A different War tested both Spike Necklace and Peacock Charm compared to Soil for Rampage and found the Gorget to be inferior. These things seem kind of random ~_~ Maybe it was just with their gear (Adaman Hauberk and all that good junk) that made the accuracy (my main reason to use it, lets me pop on Voyager Sallet for WSs instead of O hat) in the gorget seem bad

I made this account just to reply to this post. I don't know if you noticed the "enhance accuracy" on the gorget but, it DOES help a ton. Either you're brain dead seriously or you don't have one . I do agree though that the damage enhance isn't much :/.

NIN forums discussion on KI came to the conclusion that it definitely helps multi-hit weaponskills. Blade:jin, at least for me, is notoriously inaccurate even with +30acc on WS. I even have this problem on Easy Prey robber crabs in kuftal with my ohat + hauby on while leveling NPC.

I'm actually farming stingrays for breeze gorget right now lol

Accuracy might be overall, on all hits, but I agree with Royze at least for damage, the .1 fTP modifier only is tacked on to the first hit, not all 3/5/8(depending on WS).

breeze is best for Jin right?.... but thunder also works?

Both work, any gorget works that the WS has a property of works. Jin is Detonation A and Impacation B, so yes, Thunder would work.

I got Thunder instead of Breeze because Thunder also works with Vorpal Blade and Savage Blade, for whenever I have to end up xping my PLD.

I've heard that the gorgets only work if that ws has the element they correspond to as it's first element. I'm 2 hpemde organs away from a Thunder but I'm going to try checking my damage on Savage Blade with soil vs thunder to see if it's really true. I do notice a nice difference in my Vorpal blade dmg with soil though, usually around 100 points higher than it used to be on average.
