most manufacturers pull that kind of shit with laptops. unless you're paying the premium for a high-end build, it's a sure bet that they've skimped on the hard drive. most will just throw a big magnetic drive in there to keep the big storage numbers.

99% of the time, when you buy a laptop, you should include the cost of a hard drive upgrade in your purchase.

My brother is shopping for a new laptop and most that are in stores have a 512GB SSD.

I bought a pair of 2TB nvme drives at the same time I purchased my last laptop, and plan to just keep moving those from laptop to laptop as I upgrade for the foreseeable future.

ah. well, if you're having trouble finding one to meet requirements, it's worth keeping in mind that the hard drive is usually the easiest part to replace on a laptop, excepting batteries of course.

also, anyone see any deals on sub-50" 120hz-native 4k TVs? i havent found any. getting into monitors that size is pricey AF, and i wouldn't mind the smart TV functions at this point. but everything between 43-49" i've found is 60hz native.

I honestly think your only option that fits all those requirements is the 48" LG CX OLED.

Which is you know, quite expensive and can be hard to find because so many people want it.
