I thought that checked against the version file for the last version you downloaded, since it doesn't download anything before doing the check (or even require being online)

I thought that checked against the version file for the last version you downloaded, since it doesn't download anything before doing the check (or even require being online)

After it's checked all the files, it says something along the lines of "Getting the latest version information" and connects to the POL servers, then downloads anything broken/missing/updated.
