Staves

I've been using Fran as my "full-out mage" lately, and was wondering if anyone had messed around with some of the hidden effects on the staves. The Storm/Glacial/Flame staves were obvious, but I just bought a Golden Staff, and haven't really seen it do much of anything. Tried it with all my elements, tried it with Arcane(Drain), and nothing. Does this staff just do a whole lot of nothing?

its a staff...doesnt have to have a bonus on it, there isnt one listed on the weapon, there isnt one.

There isn't a bonus listed on Storm/Glacier/Flame staves either, yet they increase their respective elements 1.5x from what I can gather.

I use a Judiciary Staff on Penelo. She got a ton of Magic skill from it, and it has added effect: stop, which seems to kick in quite often. >.> I <3 it.
