GED: Social Studies?

My friend asked me to help his gf with her social studies, which is the only portion of GED that she was unable to pass. Social studies, not being math, isn't something I can just apply cumulative knowledge to, so I'm not really sure how to help her prepare for this, so I thought I'd come here and ask for tips.

How would I go about helping someone learn for a test I have 0 clue what's on?

It's all about relating the material. Find a way to relate it to yourself and then relay it to her. (Ex Civil War = Gundam and Vietnam = Gundam 008 ) Also, there's this saturday cartoon that used to come on the WB that covered social studies from 3rd-9th grade social studies topics.

Speaking as someone that has a GED, this is the correct answer. The test is the equivalent of the 3rd grade CAT's. It was without question, the easiest test i had ever taken in my life.

Edit: i even remember thinking to myself how fucking absurd it was that anyone would offer a course to help people pass the test. If you're an Esl student, then maybe its understandable, but even that is a stretch.
