In an effort to decide what I should add to my pet, I recorded some stats from my last fight to see how I could win. Since he lost, I could gather his approximate hp etc.

If I added 15% HP: I could have taken 2 more hits ; ; and maybe dealt an additional 93.66 for a total of 374
If I had 95% accuracy: Damage dealt in the same time period could have been 468
If I added 25 darkness damage to every attack: Damage dealt could have been 506
What else could I have done to win the fight?

Your damage resistance is level 28. is it capped or is it still going up? I saw level 28 mentioned elsewhere is why i ask.

Edit: yup, still going up... still level 13 and the damage resistance bonus is level 29 now.

PLD vs. MNK, preordained outcome unless MNK has crappy acc imo.

Personally I would stick with it and pick and choose your fights (cancel app if your opponent looks too tough), maybe get a friend to come in with a lower level fighter to help power level your Buffalo.

I'm going to be intrested to see how the high level fighters pan out. Hoping all the strong fighters level out and those who slogged through with the less disireable fighters at low level are rewarded with strong ones at cap.

If you wanna stick with a PLD, and it's going to be forced to meat tank regardless, Might wanna drop the STR, give it a HP boost instead, or even white magic scrolls / PLD traits otherwise he just has the stats and nothing else, none of the def bonuses nor spellcasting (spellcasting is a double edged sword. He might heal himself, he might just spam banish instead). If the +15% evasion is giving it a near 20% combined evasion with your mob's stats then it's worthy of keeping.

You might want to look at Evasion Bonus instead of the 15%. The bonus levels and ends up bettter.

But for the most part Wafiks right. You should enhance his natural stats. HP and white magic. So he can out last his opponents.

you dont get good exp if your beating weaker opponents, if your in a match with a real high opponent keep it. even if you lose you can get great exp losing to highlevel.

First, I would go get yourself a sub job. You get the hp and extra stats from it. Then go get yourself pld traits, it will help your def. That should take 20FP. I would not get whm scrolls for your pld (lets it use cure 1 for 20 hp from what I have seen). From there I would think about maybe a few killer traits, they level up even on weak opponents and get very useful once they are above the lvl of your opponent.

I would also maybe think about hunting a high lvl NM version of your pet, the possibility of starting with a sub job and more traits makes some NMs much better then there normal versions.

speaking of subjobs, has anyone been able to get a "support job: monk"? it isnt listed on wiki and all of my own attempts of getting it from mnk beastmen have failed thusfar making me wonder if it even exists.

Yes also got Support Job: Monk from Orcish Gladiator... here is what I got from the gladiators in Monastic Cavern:

Attack Speed Bonus FP:70
HP Max Rate Bonus FP:30
Job Trait: Monk FP:12
Support Job: Monk FP:8
HP Max +50 FP:8

I need verification on this one (I think it's wrong):

After the emergency maintenance, I modified the FS
I tried:
Paladin Job Traits
White Magic scrolls

After the mandy I was fighting 4 levels below me used Head Butt, my mob ran to get out of range... then it stopped attacking altogether!!!

It just sat there breathing... not terrorized either.

I tried giving it commands etc, no response.

I have since removed the White Magic Scrolls and added HP Max Rate bonus to see if it stops the glitch from happening again.

You should keep track of your Buffallo's HP with and without traits, should be an easy way of finding out the difference between HP Max Bonus and HP Max Rate bonus, as well as finding out roughly how much they give per level

That happened to my BLM imp once when it was about to receive what would have been its only victory... I'm getting so frustrated, the damn thing is just too fucking weak.
