I am a registered guide on there. I did it when it was still in Alpha. Back then you got paid for however long you talked to people/how many searches you took. If its actually by the hour now, I might log on and just let it sit there.

here's the catch and reason I stopped doing it after like a few days. I went to the "Pay me now" option and apparently in order to get paid you have to open up this "internet bank account" and they send you a "ChaCha debit card" in the mail.

From what I'm gettin out of KevinK, you either can do the bank card with them for pay me now, or wait for the end of the month for an electronic money transfer.
