BIG ASS IMAGE BELOW
Spoiler: show
I'll be watching:
OPM S2 - Obviously.
Shield Hero - Continued.
Kimetsu no Yaiba - Ufotable action show, Kajiura music, can't miss this one.
Fairy Gone - Original with a good synopsis and a good staff, seems legit.
Not a lot I'm looking forward to, even when it comes to continuations. OPM I want to be awesome, but if the quality is total dog shit compared to how amazing S1 was, I don't think I'd be able to stomach watching it.
Same list, but also trying:
Kenja no Mago - the new isekai of the season...as much as I scoff at the isekai trend, many of them have been very good so I'm resigned to my isekai-loving ways at this point.
Isekai Quartet - because I've seen all those shows.
Bokutachi wa benkyou ga dekinai - I don't usually go for any kind of harem show nowadays but I heard this one was supposed to be legitimately funny and it seems highly anticipated (which often equals a good show).
Carole & Tuesday - just because BONES.
I'm just going to watch OPM S2 and see whats recommended, none of these plot synopsis really speaks to me.
and yeah Silenka,I agree, it feels like on paper we should all be sick and tired of isekai, but it feels like there's only 1 outstanding isekai every season or two. That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime and Shield Hero being among my favorites this year.
I’m not wasting my time with OPM S2. All leaked production hell from 2chan sources and animators gives me zero confidence(animators are still working on ep2-12). Anyhow pretty weak season but my highlights are Carole & Tuesday(Studio Bones and Netflix). Fruit basket(Ep 1 already released) and Kimetsu no Yaiba(Ep 1 is already released).
What does short form series mean?
I had my eye on Why the hell are you here, Teacher!? (anime, based on Soborou’s ecchi Nande Koko ni Sensei ga!?) (the PVs look hilarious) and it's filed under that.
Short episodes? It says 12 there, but I guess it means like a 2-4 or 12 min episode?
Probably 2~5 minute long episodes
IS ACE OF DIAMOND BACK?!
I may finally start watching anime again
Up to like 10-12 minutes max? Some short form series are good (I remember liking Aho-Girl a lot) but generally it's not enough time to give a shit about anything.
Also I'm not with you guys on that Isekai shit lol, they just keep getting worse and worse but I won't lie and will say I've checked out every single one because in theory I should love the genre but it sucks. Konosuba Season 3 when?
Anyway.
Continuing JOJO and DORORO for sure.
New shows are probably:
Fruits Baskets (I read the manga ages ago, still can't believe it took them this long)
Diamond of Ace (fuck yea)
Hitoribocchi (1st episode was cute, will probably be chill)
Kono Oto Tomare (looks like music with shoujo stylings? idk, looks cool though)
Bungyo Stray Dogs season 3
Attack on Titan season 3 part 2 (THE PART WE WERE ALL WAITING FOR)
The rest I'll take as they air, few things look initially interesting though.
Finally got around to watching "I Want to Eat Your Pancreas". Good movie but really REALLY similar to "Your Lie in April".
OPM animation is just as bad as expected. Still gonna watch it though.
Isekai Quartet is about what I expected, super cute and funny, too bad the eps are so short.
Kimetsu no Yaiba is looking like the winner of the season. Fantastic everything.
Dropped Bokutachi wa benkyou ga dekinai - wasn't funny, wasn't interesting, just an average blah harem show with a wet noodle protagonist.
OPM is hilarious because it tries hard for the actual trick but completely fucks up the landing. I'll keep watching but it's a shame, hopefully they don't cover anything too amazing this season.
This one had a lot of hype around it and many people said it was a good comedy with good characters...which makes me wonder what is wrong with people's judgment XD
As far as OPM, I feel it could be a slideshow and still retain the same overall effect.
Yeah, 1 episode in and it didn't compare at all to the first season. So many little cheap animation tricks to avoid things like moving bodies or even mouths and save budget.
They tried to make it look flashy and well produced, but like you said, they just sporadically jumped from still-frame to still-frame with little bits of blurred animation in-between.
There was some nice animation stuff here and there, faces look a bit weird to me but king is still awesome lol
I love the cute tatsu arts in the op <3
..oh and genos looks fucking awful
1 episode in and I already have this gut feeling Carole & Tuesday is going to be the best anime this season. Loved the first episode, already want an OST.
