this is old...
Wondering if this is available outside the US? Looking to reactivate and no possibility of 3DS cards...
it clearly states only United States and Canada.
Sorry skimmed over, in that case lemme rephrase~ any way to bypass 3ds if I have na acct but live in eu without possibility of applying to a 3ds card?
I bypassed the card security BS by updating payment info on my ps3. You only need the 3D security stuff if you're updating from a PC.
Guess I'm SOL then. Can't update on xbox cause it's a NA acct and it won't load payment services :s
If you are on PC (or can get access to PC version), there's a ghetto way of doing it. But you'll have to use someone else's card that is 3D Secure unfortunately.
1) Access 3D Secure web browser on the second [acceptable] card.
2) Confirm the card via the web browser.
3) Click back on the POL browser just before you confirm the change.
4) Replace the second card information with your own information CC information.
5) Click next to confirm through.
6) ???
7) Profit.
Been using this method ever since they introduced this 3D secure stuff. Oddly, I learned this from a ZAM forum.
Enjoy being put on hold for 30 minutes. Shame they don't have a 1-800 number anymore.
Does the Firefox+NoScript exploit not work in this scenario?
So I have talked with Square SOB's each day since last Friday (4/1). They keep telling me to keep re-trying to enter my information. All I'm trying to do is update my payment information. I'm using a already registered 3D-secure debit/cc and been getting the error that the server is busy or my information is valid. The # on my card hasn't changed in over 6 years. Just the exp date. If someone can PM a way to get around this POS system or describe in detail the above mentioned ghetto method so I can start playing again, I would be most graciously thankful.
Using the security numbers on the back of the new card? Otherwise, I could never get the iframe/firefox thing to work, so used this instead.
When I needed to update my cards I just called to manually update the info.
I tried that already with the bastards on the phone. Since it's a 3d-secure card they won't err... UNABLE to change it manually. They could if the card is a non-secure type card. Well I told them I don't own any CC's. One CS guy had the nerve to ask me why. I told him I have enough debt with 2 kids, school and a mortgage.
I'm in the same boat as you Erlayn. I keep getting the error code UCS-5311 because my card expired at the end of March and it won't let me input my new card information. They keep telling me it's due to server congestion and I try to tell them that their system did the same thing back in October for 3 weeks when I was trying to pay for a second account and they just tell me there's nothing they can do. I just got hung up on by a SE person after waiting 47 minutes on hold while I was trying to get them to put a non secure verified card on my account.
PROFIT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Sho you a motherfuckin GENIUS! I did it your ghetto way with my wfes info and card. SUCCESS! Issac, do what Sho said above and boom! On like donkey kong.
Can someone explain to me why they haven't bothered just updating POL to accept Crysta as a form of payment? Seems a hell of a lot less hassle than trying to get it to work with a CC whenever a problem occurs.
Because they'd then have to link billing to SE IDs instead of POL IDs, and redesign the PlayOnline Viewer to access the SE ID information system to let us edit details. Remember, console users can't be expected to always have a computer available to update billing information, it has to be doable from within the game software.
