FFRK - The More, The Merrier (VI) Event & Strategies

Honestly, another victim of bad translation. JP Event was named 'Searching for Friends', which if you've played the game is the best damn song on an already amazing soundtrack.

"Then I guess that means I shall save the world as well. Lead on! I will copy your every move." - Gogo
    "Ughaaa!" - Umaro

With the world in Ruin and Kefka sitting atop his tower, the surviving members of The Returners - led by former Imperial General Celes - seek out their lost comrades in an effort to take one more shot at Kefka in order to restore their ruined world.

Umaro, a sasquatch companion (with muscle) of their friend Mog, is recruited from deep within the hollow caves surrounding Narshe.

Additionally, the team finds an odd one sitting alone in the belly of a Zone Eater on the distant triangle island. Covered in layers from head to toe, they identify themselves as "Gogo, the famed mimic" and offers to join the team.

    Event Start Date: September 21
    Event Bonus Battle: September 25
    Event End Date: October 5

This event does last for a while, so you can complete it at your leisure. Though the best spot to do so would be ASAP so it doesn't interfere with any of DjangoFest.

All information is taken from a mixture of Reddit/Spreadsheets/Kongpakbao Site and my own obviously expert analysis.

Most info for the event comes from this site: https://www.reddit.com/r/FFRecordKee...vt&sh=b7c2413e

Though the information provided is used as a guideline and not always taken directly from the thread. When necessary, additional thoughts on Cid Missions and battle strategies are added.

Berserker Ring - Accessory. Atk +15 and moderate thunder resistance.

Complete Ultimate++ fight with a party of FF6 heroes.

    Relics
If you're good for Magicite coverage, this would be a good event to pull on. Setzer becomes the best debuffer in the game period, and Shadow becomes the dark version of Edge.

But you're probably not set for Magicite coverage, DjangoFest is *right there*, and the next FF6 banner is overall a lot better for realm synergy coverage AND magicite coverage. Everything you would want for Terra and Celes is on the next banner.

You could also just be a fan of Umaro and Cyan and want their toys. Noone would hold it against you.

    Banner 1:

As mentioned, Shadow can become the real beast here (Umaro to come later).

His USB entry is 10 instant dark/non hits with a pseudo-EX mode that follows every dark ability with self quickcast. Additionally, when using Ninja abilities and Shadow has physical blink shadows on him, he will chase those Ninja uses with 1-2 hits of dark/non damage. Good pairing, unsurprisingly, is his instant BSB which grants him en-dark.

His SSB shows up that does offer him physical blink x2 for utility.

The man of the hour, Setzer. Overshadowed a bit by the timing of this event, but hes still THE debuffer of the game to this date. His USB is 10 hits of ranged physical pentabreak with a pseudo-EX mode that grants quickcast to Support abilities. The chase here is a single hit physical attack that applies Power/Magic/Armor/Mental Breakdown and can then chase his LM for another stackable Atk/Mag/Mnd break.

His BSB returns, offering a chance at double entry hits (14 total!) with Atk/Mag breakdown on entry. Additionally, you can nab both of his SSB's here as well.

The Yeti. Umaro. Fairly faithful to his use in game (Berserker, Blizzard Orb, etc). His BSB is 7 hits of ice/non entry with en-ice. Cmd1 is a 40% HP heal with noncharge x1 and his Cmd2 is 3x ST ice/non damage with Atk/Res bargain. Green Cherry SSB is a rage effect like Gau's (that overwrites Retaliate, Berserk, etc) where he will randomly choose from 1 of 4 actions. Powerful, but very random and a seeming tendency to use the "Attack" option more often.

Cautioun as Setzer and Shadow do have Death proc weapons here, and Umaro's SSB armor carries a fire resist.

    Banner 2:

The good news is that Relm's USB returns here!

The bad news is that Gogo's mimicry is in practice a little difficult to control considering the games format. His BSB is a 8x ST entry that can be physical or magical with party Atk/Mag +30%. Cmd1 is mimic, which follows the same guidelines as Gogo V's mimic, and Cmd2 is 4 hits of physical or magical damage.

Gogo's SSB is equally underwhelming, carrying the same physical/magical split with AoE entry and party 40% medica w/esuna.

Cyan's USB is solid on an average at best character. 8x ST fire/non entry with High Retaliate and en-fire. But retaliate hits are always NAT. So theres that.

His BSB returns, offering a party crit fix at 50%.

Gau's BSB is a little tricky mechanically. 8x ST entry with Atk/Def bargain and shortcharge 3. Cmd1 is a random choice of 1x ST hit, 3x ST hits, or 3x AoE hits. Cmd2 is a %HP heal that can heal 1 person for 30% HP, 1 person for 70% HP, or the party for 30% HP. His Shiny Shiny Shiny SSB returns as well.

Honestly, the "trash" may be the best items on the banner. Mog's Earth Boost weapon SSB carries an Atk/Def breakdown and Sabin's SSB has a party HP% medica with esuna and a def boost.

    Legend Materias:
Banner 1 - Shadow: Begin the fight with en-dark.
Banner 1 - Setzer: 30% duration boost for stat debuffs.

Banner 2 - Cyan: Begin the fight with en-fire.
Banner 2 - Daryl: 35% chance to add shortcharge to Mimic-ed abilities.

    Bonus Battles
    Fanatic Strength
    Holy Dragon
    HP: 167,396
    Target Score:
    • Defeat Holy Dragon without being KO'ed.
    • Afflict Holy Dragon with slow.
    • Reduce Holy Dragon's mind.

    Weak: None
    Absorb: Holy
    Resist: None
    Null: None
    Status Vulnerabilities: Slow, Sap

    Just one fight here.

Notes: Stay mindful of the fact that this guy absorbs holy and that White Mage offensive magic runs off of mind, and you'll be fine. See what I did there?

    Three Dream Stooges ++
    Laragon, Curlax & Moebius
    HP: Larry: 129,935 - Curly: 139.935 - Moe: 129,935
    Target Score:

    • Reduce an enemy's resistance.

    Resists: None
    Null: None
Vulnerabilities: Larry: Sleep, Confuse, Slow, Blind - Curly: Sleep, Blind - Moe: Stop, Blind

Notes: All 3 stooges can cast self reflect, so summons and AoE magic are the order of the day. Moe can buff the party otherwise and Curly will use debuffs, so focus on them first if you go one by one.

Runic can deal with a large majority of the damage here. But there are some AoE magics that get thrown around and only a token physical attack to worry about, so focus on magic mitigation.

    No freezy blowy on Larry.

    Soul Stealer +++
    Wrexoul (w/Soul Saver)
    HP: Wrexoul: 160,288 - Soul Saver: 38,476

    Weak: Ice
    Absorbs: Fire, Holy
    Resist: None
    Null: None
Vulnerabilities: Wrexoul: Blind - Soul Saver: Confuse, Slow, Blind, Berserk

Notes: If you're unfamiliar with this fight mechanic we've had before, Wrexoul can possess a character and leave the fight until you hit the correct character with a physical attack to bring them back. A lot more forgiving than the mechanic in the actual game requiring you to be near death.

Everything is magical, so plan accordingly.

An Ice OSB can deal with this fight pretty quick. Killing the Soul Saver's stop Wrexoul from being able to possess targets, but will enrage him and unlock his nasty AoE spells. Mind the confuse and berserk statuses.

    Ultimate + Apocalypse Battles
Wrath of the Imperial Army (U)
    凶Gestahlian Imperial Military
    HP: Sergeant: 42,334 - Guard: 45,334 - Mega Armor: 45,421 - 55, 421

Weak: Sergeant + Mega Armor: Thunder, Holy - Guard: Poison (Oh, you!)
    Absorbs: None
    Resist: None
    Null: None
    Vulnerabilities: None

Notes and Strategies: 3 wave of enemies here. The dangerous part, honestly, is getting set up for the other 2 rounds because the first Mega Armor you face can do some damage.

    Wave 1 = 2x Sergeants + 1x Mega Armor
    Wave 2 = 2x Guards + 1x Mega Armor
    Wave 3 = 3x Mega Armors

Infantry has physical only attacks, while the Mega Armors have mixed so you'll want to cover both physical and magic.

    Berserker Under The Cliff (U++)
    凶Umaro
    HP: 346,708
    Target Score:
    • Reduce 凶Umaro's attack.

(Weak/V Weak only) Green Cherry (NAT: Self increase attack by 50% for 25 seconds)
(Weak/V Weak only) 100 Times Healthier! (NAT: Self Haste, Protect, Shell, and Regen)

Notes and Strategies: Both mitigations are likely wanted, though his magic abilities are much more damaging. You can't back row characters for physical mitigation either.

Ice resistance will help, but also consider Affliction Break or Astra. Umaro will use Ultimate Snowstorm at 70% and 40% HP, which carries a 102% chance to stop. Mind Breakdown could also be useful if you can slot it in, but give priority for Affliction Break.

Have an Atk debuff ready for 50% to counter Green Cherry, as well as a form of dispel to get rid of haste/pro/shell/regen.

Managing the phases is the order of the day. Don't bum rush and end up getting your clock cleaned at 50% HP.

Cid Mission: Lot of people to exploit fire weakness in FF6. Lot of characters to bring a pretty balanced team to the fight. Indonesian Blade is mitigated here because it only absorbs Hailstone, but could still be good to refresh Blazing Twinstrike.

You'll want some form of medica, and if you have Locke and his BSB or Mug Bloodlust you may be able to get away with shared options if you time it right. I'd still consider 2 healers if you lack something good for Relm or don't have Sabin's lifesiphonable SSB.

    HP: JS Goddess: 507,830

    Absorbs: Thunder, Holy

    Quasar (NAT: AOE 360% piercing0.5 magical non-element)
Cloudy Heaven (NAT: AOE 30 second Doom, characters are Confused if revived)
凶 Flash Rain (NAT: AOE 410% piercing0.5 magical water)
    Attack (PHY: ST 180% physical)

(Weak/V Weak) Lullaby (NAT: AOE Sleep, 51% chance)

Notes: Goddess enters Weak and Very Weak phases at 70 and 40% respectively. Along with that comes Lullaby, so bring Affliction Break or Astra in some form so you can still wear those thunder resist accessories, because her spells will hurt and are piercing. Enkidu can help with sleep if you can't slot Affliction Break because it is on a set use pattern.

Her physical attacks are not piercing, but are not too dangerous. If you can swing it, pack Protect. You can leave Shell at home.

On her 5th turn, you'll meet a 30 second doom timer.

Also keep in mind that Goddess has a permanent Shell and Haste that cannot be dispelled, so magic users are already at a disadvantage here because her stats do not reflect shell.

Jump Start Notes: The 2nd time global sees enhanced stats for the JS fight. Thankfully this isn't some Chadarnook b.s. so your approach can be the same as it was for the Apoc version. Be mindful of the above and just pace SB uses accordingly.

If anything, not needing to use Wall nets you an extra healing BSB use if you end up in a protracted fight - even with the doom timer over your head. A pocket Yshtola or Vanille BSB could be useful - Relm even more so.

Thats just what they want you to think.

In another 1952 interview, Stevenson said:

"President Eisenhower continues to amaze me. He appears to be an ungainly and graceless man, but when senator Robert Taft makes a move, no matter how ridiculous, Eisenhower copies it with the skill of French mime Marcel Marceau. I haven't achieved such levels of mimicry with my own party, but I'm working on it".

This requires almost no explanation: Gogo is a mime with near-supernatural skills.
And you can't convince me with your mind tricks that Daryl is really dead either! I won't believe it!

    Spoiler: show
Yeah I know about that interview. I grew up believing that Gogo was Daryl though, and that's the way it is going to remain.

Squall being dead the whole time though, that's just crazy.

Btw if you're planning pulls here you should probably wait a couple days and see what you get from the LDs. Given the announcement details for #2 dropping tomorrow it should include the BSB/USB relics released for this event's Banner #1.

Umaro BSB is a real great workhorse for Magicite sub 30s since his command 1 gives power chain to whoever it is cast on.

Ugh, running out of fire power on Goddess. Trying to figure out what I can do to tweak things. Already swapped out FFT Cid (only have burst which initial attack is holy/dark so getting resisted) for Sephiroth and Tyro for Faris (I have her Burst). Got her down to about 15% but wiped due to doom timer.

Cloud: Finishing Touch, Lifesiphon spam and Ace Striker
    Seph: BSB2, Lifesiphon Spam, Battleforged
    Y'shotola Cures, RW duty
Ramza: Fully dived, doing Shout/History Truth depending on RW, Pound/MBD
Faris: BSB Spam and Affliction Break

Tried using Hyper Mighty G and Deployment Tactics.

    Sleep resist accessories.

Ramza should be running Wrath + Entrust. Go Shout > Wrath USB (line up with Cloud OSB firing off) then feed SB to Cloud, then fire off another Shout. Run Truthseeker on Cloud to max out OSB damage.
Ysh should be running Ultra Cure. If you have Enkidu, that's a bonus since you won't have to worry about sleep that much.
Sephiroth Dark Bargain if you really want to max out C1.

For RW, Rikku USB pointless. DT fares a bit better. My setup was this and was far from Optimal

OK - R4 Powerchain | R3 Full Charge - OSB (tbh I would have done more damage with SSB) - Truthseeker
    Ramza - Wrath | Entrust - Shout/USB - Mako Might
Zell (Lulz mistake when I considered my RW) - Lifesiphon | Lifebane - BSB - Ace Striker
    Setzer - Wrath | MBD - USB/BSB - Dr. Mogs
    Ysh - Ultra Cure | Wrath - BSB(Did I really need this?)/Medica II - Battleforged
RW: Cloud USB (Zell choice was stupid)
    Magicite: Enkidu

How bad is the damage without lightning resist with MBD in effect? Sleep is the only thing holding me back. Had a 5% wipe due to Seph and Cloud both getting slept at the end despite AB being up.
