Black Friday - Need a new video card - whur dem deals at?

    Hey all.

Looking for a new video card this year. I don't have a 4k display so my target is only 1080p.

Probably looking for a 1060 6gb just due to price, but I would seriously consider a 1070 8gb if I could find one under 400 bucks. Newegg has them listed at 399.99 for black friday.

Anyone think they'll drop lower than that?

Currently have a 760 4gb that has been crashing in games on and off for last year so I think its dying slowly.

I think 1070 sub $400 will not be a problem at all. I tried a 1060 6gb and found it lacking. I'm currently using the Goliath Zotac 1070 AMP! Extreme. Fucker is huge but crushes games. Or, just spend $100 more and get a 1080, but that's not necessary for 1080p gaming. Aren't you by a Micro Center?

Black Friday and Cyber Monday are always huge letdowns. Just look for normal sales.

Right this minute a 1070 mini can be had for $400 or so. Newegg has been running 5% off total purchase coupons when using mobile. Also, check out B&H Photo as they've had good deals too. Too bad you're not in Chicago because a MC there has an open box Vega 64 for only $425. That's a killer price for that card even though it's a blower card.

Not personally a fan of rebates. Still waiting(not really, accepted it will just never come) for a rebate that I submitted years ago when I bought parts to build a friend a pc.

Also looking for a full size card, not a mini. My case is huge, plenty of space, would much rather have the extra space for airflow.

Rebates are easy peasy. I keep a band of all my used rebate cards for kicks. Only ever had one denied and it was my own fault. All others have issued. Don't be scared of them when it comes to saving money!

$25 off $200+ at Newegg when checking out using MasterPass (any card type can be applied to it) using promo code MPBF17. That MSI GTX 1070 is now $405 after rebate and shipping. Some GTX 1080 models for $475-$490 that include Destiny 2.

Should I get a 4k TV without HDR? Is it really a big difference? Black Friday has so many great deals on 4k TVs that I'm tempted but there are no HDR under 550 and it's a little smaller than I wanted. Suggestions?

TV for TV stuff? Or for use as a monitor? I'm not a big TV person so I can't say either way. If for a monitor, the below is $289 using promo code MNTR1121 at checkout. Great price for a 32" 4K with Freesync.

Both. It's for the living room but I run an HDMI cable and stream my content. I'll also do a little gaming on it, assuming it's controller friendly. I'm mainly worried about input lag, but it doesn't have to be a 1ms delay for me to consider it. I'm also worried about hdr vs non hdr, but idk if hdr is as big a jump for Tvs as high def was.

I haven't tried to game on our 60" 4K Vizio so I honestly can't say one way or the other how bad input lag is when using a TV. I don't do moba and don't do competitive so I probably wouldn't notice or care. The price jump to HDR seems extremely high. I personally can't justify it.

It's an extra 150-200, I just don't know how good it is. But you like your 4k?

My 40" 4K monitor I've had for almost two years. It's MASSIVE. Looks great. Went from a QNIX 27" 1440P panel. I'd prefer something like the 32" I linked above, but when I bought it (for $485) it was the best price for that size and 4K by a country mile.

Our Vizio TV is a refurb I bought from Walmart for $400 before tax. We've had it for about two months and it was a massive upgrade coming from our 60" LG Plasma 1080p. While the blacks aren't as rich, the lack of glare has us over the moon with the purchase. I've played a lil MLB The Show 16 and about 20 minutes of Bloodborne on it and for PS4 gaming it's great and overall we have zero complaints. I'll be buying a Steam Link on Thursday from Gamestop for the $5 sale and will try some PC games on it then to see if I notice a difference.

Justifying HDR is still hard due to lack of content. I've tried it for both work and home, not a fan. Feels like the gimmick that is curved home Tv's and 3D.

The displays I've seen looked like ridiculous neon signs with hdr turned on, but I figured they were exaggerating the effect for a demo. Content is an issue but if it's not a game changer anyways I won't bother.

Black Friday and Cyber Monday were bullshit.

Just mark up the list price to make it look like a sale.

My incentive check is coming in my next paycheck and I think I might just spend a bunch of it on a video card and say fuck xmas this year haha.

1070s can be had again at mid to high $300s to low to mid $ 400s.
