FFRK - A Heretic Waits & Cycle of Destruction (Mobius/FF1) Events & Strategies

Not that we're 6 months late or anything...but hey we finally got Daily Missions.

This will be a dual thread for Meia and Thief events - because the schedule gets a little wonky and the community still isn't quite sure what DeNa is going to do.

"I wish to wreck vengeance on this world. If it means my life, then so be it." - Meia
"We start a nice, friendly conversation. Then, bam, the mugging." - Thief

Meia and a previous Warrior of Light candidate fell in love. Aware that this went against the prophecy, however, she tried to distance herself from the warrior but he was adamant about this, and convinces Sarah to acknowledge his love for Meia, thus breaking the prophecy.

This raises Vox's ire, leading to him implanting suspicions of heresy against them in other Blanks. Eventually getting cornered at the same bridge Chaos was killed at in the past, the two are murdered before falling into the sea, but end up floating into the stream. Meia says she would have been content to simply float away forever together, but something brought her back from death, causing to wake up on the same shores as the blanks, having become a new Meia who was now branded a heretic—the Azure Witch.

Meia Event Start Date: April 19
Event Bonus Battle: April 22 (?)
    Event End Date: April 29

Thief Event Start Date: April 24
    Event Bonus Battles: ???
    Event End Date: ???

All information is taken from a mixture of Reddit/Spreadsheets and my own obviously expert analysis.

Much info for the event comes from this thread and its related links:
    Meia: https://www.reddit.com/r/FFRecordKee...ea&sh=ad343e78

    Thief:
    https://www.reddit.com/r/FFRecordKee...1a&sh=9bd3feed

Though the information provided is used as a guideline and not always taken directly from the thread. When necessary, additional thoughts on Cid Missions and battle strategies are added.

Not sure if this still holds, but Meia's event in JP was a collection event. Her event rewards are likely gained through Prismatic Shard exchange.

    Relics

There is a lot of a gray area right now for these events. We don't know 100% what Banner 2 consists of because it was under the old format and DeNa already monkey'ed with B1 - swapping Garland's BSB2 for his vastly inferior BSB1.

The Thief banners are a bit more clear as to what should be on them.

The upside is that unless you want to future proof yourself a bit, these can be skipped. Having Meia as your water mage for future magicites is good, as she is potentially the best out of a poor selection. However, events from FFI appear so infrequently (there were long gaps between Meia, Matoya/Master, and Thief for JP) that it is hard to tell when we will next see it.

There will likely be a lot of duplicate entries here, especially for LMR's. Going to post what we know for Meia now *AND* what the Thief event banners had and we can sort it out later.

    Ultra EX/Chase Type Glossary:
    Spoiler: show
Stay tuned, trying to actually finish this for this event.

    Please be excited.

    Meia Event:
    Spoiler: show
    Banner 1:

Garland's USB debuts here, a native +dark sword that packs 10 hits of dark/non ST damage, en-dark, and doubles Darkness school cast speed for 15 seconds. His "Chaos" chase is built around self sufficiency with the HP draining physical Darkness skills as a 2x dark/non ST hit with a 20% Drain Strike heal thats triggered by Darkness abilities.

The contention here is that Garlands much improved BSB2 was knocked down by his BSB1, which is inferior across the board (and a terrible booby prize at that). It's saving grace is that it does grant en-dark.

Sarah's USB follows more of the buffer role - a vanilla party Atk/Mag boost with Shell/Haste and 2k HP Stock. Not amazing considering some of the other healer USB's recently, but a nice buff suite all in one package - noting you'll still need to pack Protect somewhere. Her sage buff medica BSB does return here though.

Wol gets much needed love here, gaining a USB and BSB, the downside being they continue his hybrid support/damage role that many other characters simply do better. His USB is unique in that the entry provides 8 hits of ST ranged damage, dispel, and the extremely potent Def/Res -70% break that does stack with everything else breakdown wise - but it only lasts 8 seconds.

His BSB packs 7x random physical hits with Full Breakdown on entry. Both commands are physical only, with C1 being a 4x ST hit with a stun proc and C2 a 2x AoE Atk/Def break of 20%.

Finally, the heretic were all here to see that isn't named Ramza: Meia!

Her OSB is your standard ST water/non Black Magic hit doing additional damage when hitting a weakness.

Her BSB is when things get fun. 6x AoE water/non Summon entry hits with en-water. Her commands are both Summoner school and play off a toggle. C1 (off) is Mag/Def bargain and turns the toggle on and C1 (on) is 4 hits of AoE water/non and off. C2 (off) is a potent 4x ST water/non hit while C2 (on) is a stronger 4x hit.

Since Meia was originally on a much older banner, she gains her SSB here with a 9x ST water/ice/non entry damage and 4x magic quickcast.

Echo's BSB2 returns here as well.

Meia's LMR armor is native +water.

    Banner 2:

Because of the time warp effect in play here, we don't know all of B2 - specifically if DeNa keeps current format with 4x 6* and 5 BSB, or if they gimp it further and increase the SSB offerings.

Right now, Master gains his USB with a ST 10x physical hit entry, Atk/Res buff, and Crit Damage Boost. His "Rush" chase effect follows a critial hit with ST 4x physical damage. His BSB makes a encore appearance.

Matoya's tri-element USB packs 10x fire/ice/lightning, a Mag/Res boost, doubles Witch cast speed, and chases with 'TCELES B HSUP': 4x ST fire/ice/lightning damage that is triggered by hitting a weakness. It was buffed later to include a non-elemental offering as well...but may arrive without it.

Of note for her USB armor is that it carries a small Petrify resist.

Her BSB returns as well for more tri-element coverage.

Thief's toys are a lot like Marcus from FF9 - wind/poison. His BSB brings instant 10x random wind/poison hits with Atk/Def-50% on entry. All commands are Thief school, with C1 being 4x of ST wind/bio damage + doubles Thief cast speed for 2 turns. C2 is 2x hits and Armor Breakdown.

His SSB is 8-11x win/poison ST hits with a speed threshold determining the extra damage (190 max). IT also has an uncommon Mag/Def break and is instant cast.

His LMR armor is native +wind.

Whats missing here are 2 potential 6* relics and 2 potential BSB's. The 6*'s are limited in FF1, so both chains are possible here.

    Legend Materias:
    • B1 - Meia: Begin battle with en-water.
    • B1 - Echo: Small (25%) chance to cast a medica when using Dancer abilities.
    • B1 - Sarah: Small (25%) chance to cast a medica when using Bard abilities.
    • B1 - Garland: Trance mode. Full heal and cast speed x2 for 25 seconds.

    • B2 - Thief: 50% chance to increase gil drops by 30% when a dagger is equipped.
    • B2 - Master: Small (25%) chance to gain a moderate attack boost on the next action after using Monk abilities.
    • B2 - Matoya: Deal moderately more damage with Witch abilities when a staff is equipped.

Your GP or your HP (Thief Event):
    Spoiler: show
    Banner 1:

While these banners may be rolled into one offering for the Meia event, here is what the original Thief event was to offer us.

Garland's BSB2 is modeled after Squall's BSB2. 8x dark/non hits on entry pairs well with the en-dark. C1 is 2x ST dark/non damage and grants a Circle of Power stock. C2 is 4-7x ST dark/non damage with hits, potency, and crit rate based on the number of Circle of Power charges.

Garland's USB (+dark) and OSB return (relatively speaking).

    Reruns (again, relatively speaking):

    Sarah: USB and BSB
    Master: USB and BSB
    Echo: BSB2
    Wol: BSB

    Banner 2:

Matoya's USB and Thief's gear (obviously) premiered here.

Aside from that, this is a potentially loaded banner.

    Garland: CSB and BSB2
    WoL: CSB, USB, and BSB
    Meia: BSB

    Legend Materias:
    • B1 - Sarah: Small (25%) chance to cast a medica when using Bard abilities.
    • B1 - Echo: Small (25%) chance to cast a medica when using Dancer abilities.
    • B1 - Garland: Trance mode. Full heal and cast speed x2 for 25 seconds.
    • B1 - Master: Small (25%) chance to gain a moderate attack boost on the next action after using Monk abilities.

    • B2 - Matoya: Deal moderately more damage with Witch abilities when a staff is equipped.
    • B2 - Thief: 50% chance to increase gil drops by 30% when a dagger is equipped.
    • B2 - Meia: Begin battle with en-water.

Notes: Each of Hashmal's AoE attacks are on individual counters that lock it out for 3 turns after each use.

Hashmal will also prompt before a "Wrath of the Land" is used with the message that "The ground beneath you begins to rumble...".

Bring your earth resist accessories and wail on him with wind. He can put up some damage but not enough to be a threat with a halfway decent medica and good mitigation.

35% chance: Mega Graviton (NAT: 303% chance to deal 30% maximum HP damage to all targets)
30% chance: Obliteration (NAT: deal 450% ranged physical dark damage to all targets)

Notes: Not as terrible as MO Anima with the forced Last Stand use, but still potent. Coupled with the fact you likely are not packing a lot of heat on Wol so you're really in this fight with 4.5 characters.

Everything is dark or gravity damage, but you cant skimp on physical or magical because his opening physical hit is still potent.

You will get a 2 turn warking for Obliteration, and like Hashmal the AoE uses are on individual timers and cannot be used in succession. Obliteration is on a 3 turn cooldown itself after use.

Cid Mission: Wol is required, so pack him with Breakdown skills and back row him if you don't have anything for him SB wise.

Holy characters can rip Anima apart, so the usual suspects of Raines, TG Cid, etc are good options here. Otherwise, bring your 4 best other options for the format and go nuts.

    Status Vulnerabilities: Stun

Notes: Biggest note is Garland element absorbtion. Watch those Meltdowns.

His physcial offerings can be reta'ed, and his most potent physical hit (Soul of Chaos) can be taunted. You can ignore protect entirely if packing retameta.

Outside of his absorb elements, Garlands doesn't do anything fancy.

    White Dragons +
    凶White Dragon x2
    HP: 180,000 (each)
    Target Score:
    • Win before Ultimate Snowstorm is used for the 4th time.

    Weak: Fire, Thunder
    Absorbs: None
    Resists: None
    Null: Ice, Earth
    Vulnerabilities: Stun

    Moveset:
(Default only) Snowstorm (NAT: FRAOE 150% magical ice, 63% chance to Slow)

(Not Solo only) Attack (PHY: ST 344% physical)
(Not Solo only) Blizzaga (BLK: AOE 294% magical ice)

    Attack (PHY: AOE 206% physical)
Snowstorm (NAT: AOE 294% magical ice)
Ultimate Snowstorm (NAT: AOE 294% magical ice, 78% chance to Paralyze)
Blizzara (BLK: ST 350% magical ice)

Notes: Have a decent heal ready to go for the opening, as both Dragons will use Snowstorm on turn 1 then wait a turn before acting again on turn 3.

You do want to keep the dragons HP within 15% of the other, or else they begin to spam the regular Snowstorm. The good news is the only element use is Ice, so you can accessorize between Ice and Paralyze/Slow as you want. Pack Ultra Cure for good measure though.

Cid Mission: Echo is preferred due to Dancer skillset. Meia is worth egging for the Valigarmanda access. Matoya can also be useful for Meteor, Ultima, or Ruinga.

Becaiuse of the opeing Salvo, you'll want an opening medica - even if its a shared one since Enkidu won't be ready at battles start.

This can be done without wall if you need a boostga for RW, but be mindful that Sarah and Echo can both run Pro/Shell.

The End of Conflict (Apoc +)
    滅Chaos
    HP: ???
    Target Score:
    • Reduce Chaos' magic.

    Weak: None
    Absorbs: None
    Resist: Omni
    Null: None
    Vulnerabilities: Stun

    Moveset:

(Default only) Blizzara (BLK: AOE 342% magical ice)

Attack (PHY: AOE 253% physical, 24% chance to Paralyze)
Firaga (BLK: ST 550% magical fire)
Blizzaga (BLK: ST 550% magical ice)
Thundaga (BLK: ST 550% magical thunder)
    Slow (WHT: ST 123% Slow)

(Weak only) Inferno (NAT: AOE 438% magical fire)

(Weak/V Weak only) Tsunami (NAT: AOE 438% magical water)
(Weak/V Weak only) Tornado (NAT: AOE 438% magical wind)
(Weak/V Weak only) Ultimate Flare (NAT: AOE 425% piercing0.5 magical non-element)
(Weak/V Weak only) Curaja (WHT: Self recover 9999 HP)

(Default/Very Weak only) Haste (WHT: Self Haste)

Notes: You can skate without a Protect or Power BD if you want. Especially if packing Celes or ExDeath and their Runic - which will also negate the potent ST -aga spells.

You do have a few AoE elements to worry about, water among them ruling out Gigas Armlets. Pack what magic mitigation you can and try to spend as little time in weaker phases, as piercing non elemental Ultimate Flares can add up.

As with a lot of bosses on this level, an early dispel can help but don't worry about the haste in weaker phases.

Jump Start Notes: No changes from the A+ version.
