CBA revision is final:
1. Opt-out deadline is Thursday
2. Teams can bring players off the practice squad 90 minutes before kick-off
3. Players will be fined $50,000 every time they refuse a Covid test
how in the hell can the players refuse a covid test to begin with
im gonna take a guess that some wanker reported recently and made a stink about having to get tested
maybe more importantly:
the cap won't be lowered like people were rumouring it to beMore favorable language governing the calculation of potential revenue shortfalls due to COVID-19 and how those are made up in future years. The union had wanted to spread salary cap reductions that resulted from lost 2020 revenue out over the life of the new CBA, which runs through 2030, while the owners wanted to take the hit in 2020 and 2021. The agreement stipulated that there will be no cap impact this year, that the 2021 cap could be no lower than $175 million per team, and that further shortfalls would be made up over the years 2022-24.
allan hurns opting out
he means it won't decrease to the extent of the worst predictions not that it won't decrease at all.. i think
I mean 198 > 175 (its actually 174.9 as I previously posted) is a huge decrease. The posts were always related to next year's cap, not the one that is in place for the season next month lol.
it was supposed to decrease this year. they've changed how prorated bonuses work so that didn't happen
and they still have no idea what's going to happen with the cap next year, they've just decided it can't be lower than 175. that's it
Fat Stafford was a false positive and been removed from the Covid-19 list. He's had 3 tests come back negative after his false positive, and his entire family has been tested and all were negative.
gonna be angry fans when that shit happens to a team a day before game day... and it will lol
In another turn related to the worst off-season trade: Russell Okung is considering retirement. He missed 10 games in 2019.
The Panthers just traded 27 (as of June) year old Trai Turner for Okung this off-season, after Turner had made his fifth straight pro-bowl.
Whoever green-lit this trade from the Panthers FO is actually terrible.
ive heard more than a few players are thinking about retiring this year then returning next year if the season goes to shit 'cause of covid. apparently its the loop hole around the opt-out deadline. players can retire and be able to come back next year free and clear of being fined
