Very well, Hyan. One "flawed" system performs well and doesn't try to be anything it isn't, while the latter "flawed" system performs like shit and has people annoyed and up and arms. Happy now?

Actually, both perform like shit. The difference is that most people don't know about anything better when it comes to the former system so they deal with it. Yet those who do know are annoyed about it's flaws and limitations, except if you're a fanboy who "doesn't mind it" in which case good for you.

And even more annoying is that the former doesn't even try to be better and thinks that's a good enough excuse.

So wait, does that mean that players are only allowed to unlock purchasable mark abilities/traits for BSM OR ARM? Or are the quests intertwined or something and it unlocks both BSM and ARM tiers at the time of a quest completion?

The latter. The guilds are one in the same. You just have to choose which class you want the X,000 Guild Marks reward for when you choose do either a BSM/ARM class quest for your Rank-20/30/40/etc.

Feels like the MMO genre in general is turning out to just not be for people anymore. Old timers are growing up & getting more & more impatient. OR newer generations just can't fathom doing anything without guides & markers right in your face. Either way, i agree if it bothers you too much stop playing FF14 and if you decide it's not just FF14, then it's probably the genre.

Try again in Dec or ps3 release, not much else can be said that isn't complaining.

Beside, sandbox gameplay still hook people...just look at minecraft popularity. That's not what FFXIV is though.
