Man. I like that this is actually turning into a game and not strictly some quasi-creative sandbox experience. I spent two hours in a mine yesterday fighting for my life trying to gather materials. It was fucking intense. So significantly better than three months ago.

That's what I like about it, it's finally adding actual game elements and, as far as I know, they don't get in the way of the sandboxyness at all.

I'd prefer that he'd just fix the fucking game first before adding anything else. It's been this endless loop of new content followed by 3-5 bug updates every single run......and still being worse off than before.

Having to eat food is really boring. Especially when after an hour you don't get any animal spawns near your stuff.

Making a Wheat Farm is pretty idiot proof and basically runs itself, and you get an endless supply of bread(Food) this way. But I can pretty much say...I hate the Hunger system. Its not a huge pain but... The more realistic a game gets, the more I hate it.

Theres a point where realism can be fun, but when you take it to too far an Extreme (Forcing eating) it gets dumb. I don't play a game to regulate my characters diet, I play a game to play a game.

in 1.9 you can breed animals so it's not a big deal... just find a few, lure them to a pen with some grain, and breed the fuck out of them for all the goodies you want. :D

now my friggen animal pens will actually have a use instead of randomly spawning shit i dont want, and sometimes not at all

Lol, you mean you didn't know about it? You basically need 2 of one animal to breed more, as animals are persistant now. So just look for say, 2 pigs/chicken/mooshrooms/etc, don't have to find them at once, but find them, and hold a piece of wheat in your hand. Eventually, sometimes instantly, they will come running straight to you if your near them, and you can lure them back to where you want to hold em. Once there, feed two of the same animal a piece of wheat, and they will go to each other, doo the moomosh, and a baby animal will poop out. The baby animals don't drop anything, so you gotta wait for them to grow up, and then you can kill em for the phat loot.

It's pretty awesome, and I'm trying to figure out the best design to make an animal breeding room for crossroads.

yeah i haven't played minecraft in a while and dont really keep up with the development. haven't played since before they introduced npc towns and what not. piston update was the latest one i played i think

Been messing around single player 1.9.3

Had 2 animals in each pen except for the lonely pig, the baby animals are so silly looking it's cute :3

Ended up building my new home over the stronghold that was nearby, here's the library that was inside one of the rooms in the stronghold. FYI keep your eyes peeled cause there be treasure chests in them!
Also the new gate rooms that take you to the sky world. Seems it has to be repaired first, some of those new crystal blocks are damaged and need enderguy eyes.

Don't get me wrong I like the building aspect, but I get far more joy out of actually having to earn the materials for my creations. I know some people prefer to just be creative and that's wonderful but I feel like I get a lot of joy out of having to work for it. I think that's what ruined the game for me last time around was that I installed Toomanyitems and zombie mod and it just wasn't challenging anymore. Not that it was ever that "challenging" but you know what I mean.

k.. so now not only do I have to worry about the endermen.. but now we have to worry about giant fucking dragons.. of which probably spew lava/fire breath.. ^_^ great.. time to stop building shit out of wood and upgrade to brick/stone
