This is something that happens in online games, gear gets replaced by better gear. It is to keep us interested and motivated to play and get new things. Admittedly, it pisses alot of people off, and sometimes it really sucks, but what are you gonna do? Be happy they aren't as bad as Blizzard where the end game gear gets totally replaced more than once a year, up until now alot of gear from Sky was just as good or better than gear added before Abyssea.

I like the idea of combining all AF/Relic/Empyrean into one super slot. I don't so much like the idea of having to do the old content again for things I don't have or possible Limbus materials. I guess it wouldn't be so bad if SE did a droprate overhaul or offered alternative sources for things like +1 materials in Heroes' gold caskets.

I kind of wonder how they will do nations for the 3 new zones. All 3 zones are far from windy, so hard to think how they will split them up.

Grauberg makes sense for Bastok.
Could make a case for Altepa to be Sandy (entrance could be by Gustav Tunnel, Rabao is sandy controlled)
But it seems strange for URange to be windy for some reason.

Would have loved them to do Zi'Tah instead of Altepa...

TBH, wouldn't it have made more sense if Misareaux was Sandy and Vunkerl was Bastok? So I don't think their choice this time will make much sense.

If they +1'd all the Salvage gear, Dnc/Sch gain NOTHING from that, and it seems futile and silly to simply add endgame content that discriminate against 2 jobs. That's just silly.

Easy fix: Put SCH on Morrigan's and DNC on Skadi. I don't know why they haven't done this yet, to be honest.

There is a huge difference between complaining about Salvage gear getting upgraded and being able to have a supply for items needed for Mythics.

Screwing over Salvage people like that was a pretty big dick move, not gonna argue that. Just saying quit crying over spilled milk is all. Though it would be neat to see SE add trials to Sky Gear, like farm X Byakko's Seals to upgrade kitty pants lol.

SE has been very screwy as of late, often to our benefit so who knows what we'll see. For all we know they do have upgrades for older gear coming and the next batch of Relic/Mtyhic trials will make them relevant again. Speaking of ToM though, I for one would like to know wtf happened to the instruments trials? I've been tempted to pick up BRD again but my inventory just can't handle it, and idk if the mog sack will cover it.

They pretty much handled this with the addition of several new instruments that have higher benefits and putting two songs on one instrument. They are pretty much all AHable and are already really cheap.
