what intrigues me is the eclipse motif that pops up a few times there... wonder what it represents

the 3 areas we expect are quite certainly Altepa Desert, Uleguerand and Grauberg...
it seems they're also adding a slightly retooled Empyreal Paradox since it looks kinda different afaik, which probably means there'll be a BC to 'close' the Abyssea chapter.. the real final boss of Abyssea i suppose....

Also, because Abyssea doesn't require CoP access, the maw that allows us to reach this new Empyreal Paradox has to lie in an older area.. which leads me to think Qufim or Behemoth's Dominion is most likely because they're right next to where Al'Taieu was before it sank.

also just guessing but all characters you see in the storyline of Abyssea will likely be their Abyssea versions.. including that girl

Thank you for making Final Fantasy XIV. How is that going for you? "Shit-awful" you say? Good.

Anyway, give the developers behind Abyssea a raise, because this kicks the old add-on content squarely in the nuts. Before Abyssea, I firmly believed that DLC was just a cheap gimmick to get people to pay for content that they should already get for the cost of their game. With the $30 that we pay for all three Abyssea chapters, we get an entire expansion that rivals (and surpasses) the content from Wings of the Goddess. I cannot wait to see what awesomeness these guys have planned for this expansion and in the future.

I still speculate that Al'Taieu had to be closer to Li'Telor to balance out the distance between the Mother Crystals. It is possible that we gain access to it from one of the existing Abyssea crag zones, like the shortcut to sea- that would forgo the need to have a Conflux Surveyor there.

But as Rocl said, it is odd that the Empyreal Paradox should exist at all, considering that there are no crags. It doesn't make a lot of sense unless something made the crags vanish, but you would think that the NPCs would have mentioned that.

Sorry you probably get this all the time but I cant find any posts about it but does anybody know of a site where there is loads of the history for Vana'diel? Really want to re-read all the Zilart history etc as I've forgotten most of it.

Something connects Abyssea to Vana'diel. That same something may also be causing the Paradox to bleed through to their world. The Paradox may even be the root cause of the entire problem.
