Not of that birth certificate bullshit, just right down to the point. I love it when white people are true to themselves.

I will always remember where I was when they got married. I was fast asleep. Me and my little girl did watch them come out for the first kiss though. It was cool to see, and she loved the whole Princess and Prince thing.

Frenzy Around Britain’s Royal Wedding "Should Embarrass Us All"
Up to two billion people around the world tuned in to watch the British royal wedding of Prince William and Kate Middleton, a story which has dominated TV news for weeks. The wedding buzz offers a chance to look at the monarchy, Britain’s domestic policy, and how its colonial legacy around the word affects foreign affairs today. While all eyes were on the wedding procession and the first kiss, Democracy Now! spoke with Johann Hari, a columnist at The Independent of London, who says the royal wedding frenzy should be an embarrassment to us all.

Worth watching for a dose of reality after everyone has had their fill of romanticizing over rich white folks for the day. lol

This, apparently, is what it takes to get the media's undivided attention: the marriage between two people who are politically powerless, and who spend their waking lives as designated fetish objects for the United Kingdom's interested citizenry, for Anglophiles the world over, and for the celebrity-fixated media. Our collective Ken and Barbie dolls.

We love looking at their clothes and shoes and cars and security details and following tabloid reports of their social events and private miseries and misadventures, and comb newsstands and Google for photos of the latest royal baby.

This, according to TV news, is what we really, really, really, really, really care about.
    '

But there's something deeper at play, and it's a bit frightening: a marrow-deep urge to put down the plow, wash the muck from under our fingernails and go worship our designated social superiors; to queue up on the streets or gather in our living rooms in the wee, small hours for a glimpse of a passing motorcade or a flash of a white gown or a white glove or a red uniform tunic, then breathlessly tell others, "I saw them! I saw the prince and duchess! I, a humble serf, saw them and was ennobled by their presence, by the grace of almighty God!"

It's pretty funny how people think way too much in to this shit. I personally don't give a fuck about them and just choose to ignore it, but if some people get enjoyment out of it then whatever.

Phillip really is the best part about the royal family lol.

So glad it is over, for the past month or so here in California every time without fail when i have been speaking to someone and they find out I am from England they go on to ask me how excited I must be for the wedding and how I must be planning to stay up all night to watch it. Um.....no.

I didn't say it was a good thing, I said it was interesting. Family trees interest me.

Also, they're not quite inbred to quite the sibling stage, like ancient dynasties such as the Egyptians were.

It's fascinating how marrying the odd cousin was not an uncommon or unusual thing 150 years ago for everyone but today people reel in horror at the thought.

Fuck, I finally decided last night at 4 am that I was going to watch the Wedding and I fell asleep.
Kate looked great in that wedding dress, if only Alexander McQueen were still alive that dress would have been incredible.
