I feel it was more of a marionette/robot combo thing than an /furious emote.

the dragoon emote is probably referencing Kain's holy dragoon form. that's what makes the most sense to me, i believe he gets those kind of wings in the new dissidia during his ex burst.

Its not uncommon for people to relate to things that are more common, despite its absolute origin. Naruto is a popular Anime/manga, just look at the thread in Bentertainment Geekly, its obvious a lot of people would recognize it from Naruto, instead of a Japanese Tale (Albiet where naruto got the idea from ).

You're right that most people would get the refrence from Naruto. Generation gap more then anything explains this. I personally liked SAM just because of what it symbolizes but most people would probably not get the awesomeness of it.

DRG=Valkyrie Profile thing is true since Squaresoft made that game. I wish Nibelung Valesti was a WS of ours, although the last hit in Drakesbane has an energy dragon around it if you look carefully in slow motion.

Uh... they do. Did you not watch the video where the dancer gets the pompoms, then starts to do a dance afterwords before it cuts out?
