You guys who didn't know the sprint key, there's an autorun key on "C" too FYI.
The def down shout (Marked for Death) isn't just defense down, but a decent poison effect as well. Your NPC died because it was a friendly fire attack, and so the poison finished her off. 3: )

Also, when fighting a dragon priest for a shout (along with a dragon at the same time, now THAT was fun --; ) I killed the dragon, and the priest used his staff of fireball while the dragon bones were in the way. I narrowly avoided death by dragon bones smashing though the snow at 2489025480258028 miles per hour. They flew off the mountain, and by flew, I mean shot off into orbit and must've landed a hundred miles, lol.

    And dragon priests, or w/e those flying undead lich mages are, are stupidly overpowered. First one I encountered I actually just did kill command because he one shot me as a breton, with shock resist, with atronoch stone, with his stupid staff with 50 shock damage a second wall spell. Spent an hour trying to kill him over and over and not even getting to 90% ;;

I've been having issues with the Liches... I'm wondering if it's just how they work or whether I'm glitching bad on most of the encounters. My arrows go right through them more than half the time. The one that you summon by pouring the blood and sitting in the throne would float around the room unaware of my presence as my arrows whizzed right through his face with no effect. It wasn't until I Unrelenting Force'd him or bow-melee'd him in the crotch that he would notice me and become solid again. After a few hits he would go back to being uneffected by my arrows. It took ages to fight him because I could only get 1-2 hits off right after a shout before he would go invulnerable again. I was entirely relying on crouching next to the sconce and hoping his really bad lightning aim stayed really bad.

Is it normal and they just go etherial/corporal back and forth?

ah makes sense as to how my npc died that one time. and yeah the liches are pretty crazy.

for people who are into crafting, i got to 100 enchanting today, and for lack of a better second enchantment i decided to go with fire resist, with 1 handed dmg being the first.

i gotta say, wow. just the boots alone (46%) are enough to let me just stand there while any mage bombs me with fire. granted i have a ton of hp, but the difference from before is night and day. i don't even have a resist shield made yet (or the ele resist perk), but i can only imagine how negligible the damage will be by then. gotta go find some elder dragons to see how i fare.

No unfortunately. Best way is to take off any armor that might make sound and stealth run against a wall behind someone sleeping. Even then it's painfully slow. Just get used to creeping around dungeons and getting a ranged sneak attack in on mobs.

No they're not supposed to. I JUST fought that dragon priest you were talking about, and he bugged out on me. I did the valor shout, and after he killed the summon he just stood there and took a beating from me. That particular mob is just really glitchy.

guards really do say the funniest things
The guard inside the Jarl's place in Whiterun is my new favorite. I wa running by and he goes "I heard the guards in Riften have curved swords! Curved!! Swords!!". Just the way he said it like a kid in awe at a new toy was hilarious and unexpected.

Open 232.HTM and the rest of the links should work.

This game stops being fun when your save file hits 10mb. Framerate gets choppy as hell almost everywhere (especially when weather effects start) and my game will freeze after about an hour and a half of play. Wish I had a PC that could run this so I didn't have to play on my PS3.

    Grrr, I hate draugers. hatehatehatehatehaaaate.

Now the boss ones are starting to use the disarm shout. Had a nice shock wall staff that does 50 damage a second and the bastard disarmed me. Had to make do with fireballs the rest of the fight, and spent 10 minutes looking around before I finally found out where my staff fell. -,-

Ahaha, I tend to reload my game if my good weapon gets blown out of my hands to who-fucking-knows-where, usually among 500 other Drauger bodies and their shitty weapons. A few times I've picked up the nearest Ancient Nord Sword and put that in my hand since they like to use that Disarm shout right at the beginning of the fight. Either they only use it once or the average battle is too quick for their Thu'um to recharge.

I'm finally getting into the Dark Brotherhood quests. I had no idea how to start it since I got the note a while back... until I slept in a random bed for the first time in probably 5 days of playing. I think I'm up to like 5/8 Dragon Priests now. Yay for the scuba mask.

Again, paralyze arrows can be some of the funniest shit. I just sent a Frost Troll tumbling to its death down the cliffs of High Hrothgar with an arrow in its buttcheek. I end up lol'ing when it procs on somoene about to run down a long flight of stairs. A Draugar did that and ended up laying at my feet ready for me to put one more arrow in his earhole. I need to start running fraps for the random hilarious shit the physics can do. Not to mention the badass stuff... like a Bandit taking a huge horizontal swing at my companion with his greataxe right when my arrow hit his neck. His axe went flying like a boomerang way out into the woods and his body ended up doing a 360 in place from his arms' momentum. All in slow-motion thanks to that perk. My favorite perk.

If you guys are getting one shotted, turn down the difficulty. Higher difficultly does nothing but make you deal a lot less dmg and take a lot more dmg. Nothing else. It's for masochists who like having their shit slapped at every single encounter when higher lvl. This cannot be said enough.

Or those that exploit enchanting/smithing/alchemy to have 2k+ dmg/armor ratings with exacting enchantments and perk usages.

Sneak is actually relatively easy to level. You get a huge amount of sneak skill by landing sneak attacks (particularly with daggers) opposed to just sneaking around behind things (which gives you very little at a time)
