It starts on the 25th and ends on the 26th in Europe. Both Lodestone and game maintenances are at the same time.

They rushed the release of the game, and look where got them. This time around, they really need to do everything right when it comes to updates.

And judging by SE's decision to delay the update they are well aware of this.

Let's not forget the game has been out for 2 full months now and we have yet to get one major update.

The "Maintenance Window" is not a window for them to start plugging in their keyboards and coding in some maintenance. They've already fixed and compiled a different build of the game by then and the 4-hour window is just for them to disconnect the servers, upload it, restart it, and make sure everything is stable and working correctly before dumping players back on it. Assuming a patch is "large" because of how much it changes is naive and so is assuming that the "larger" the patch is, the longer maintenance they need to essentially reboot the servers.

They "always" put that in there Maintenance note, there is always a chance for something to happen when they are programming so.
