Yeah, but I mean from their PoV. There's gotta be a catch there. If they don't get anything out of throwing more money at the game, it is hard to find a good reason to do it.
With what the game has become in the last months it's quite clear they thought it was worthwhile to up the budget to try to keep the playerbase stable and so that as few as possible would quit. Now they have to think about it once more... if they keep up the same pace, can they keep people from leaving? If they increase the budget, can they keep much more people from leaving, to make up for the effort?
Granted, RoTZ came out when the game had about this many players, but at that point the playerbase was still growing- it was thought as a worthwhile investment at the time. Same thing with ToAU, as a lot of people switched to WoW at the time and they had to stop the movement. Right now they are doing it again- in a smaller scale, but it is clear they are trying to keep us from leaving. Is this enough, or do they have to go further? Is it worth the effort?
