Black Friday: TV Deals - Which is worth the purchase?

So looking around on say, bestbuy or target, there are a lot of cheap tv's out there.

I haven't been researching or really looking into it much, but with some of these sales, I might want to buy one but not sure which to buy.

Looking for (LCD) at least 46" for at or around 1000$, thats 1080p.

It'll mostly be used for tv and ps3, however sometimes it might end up as a computer monitors.

Do I want one of those cheap viera's? Or do I want that nice LED bravia or something?

If you can handle DLP, this is one of the better deals I've run across IMO Mitsubishi WD60638 60" 3D Ready Home Cinema DLP TV - 1080p, 1920x1080, 16:9, 120Hz sub-frame rate, 3 HDMI But Mitsubishi thinks pretty highly of its replacement parts and such. Have a 73 inch Mitsu DLP and its ok, but have had to change the lamp after about....16-17 months.

    Edit: $599 with free shipping.

I got an email earlier in the week about a couple doorbuster deals on NewEgg @ 6am PST Friday. It didn't show a brand but had a 42" 1080p HDTV for $399.99 - I'll be F5'ing my ass off tomorrow morning...

Oh, and in regards to the Panny Plasma that is linked - Panasonic has the market for the best plasma around for the most part

I missed it as well. Fell asleep at work, woke up at 3:14, gone. No tv this year!

    Should I get this?

    http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16889102360

Or should I invest in something a bit cheaper? I only really want about 40"-42". I do need a couple HDMI ports so that's a plus. I don't really care for LED vs LCD, and I hate crappy sounding speakers. Any suggestions?

Also I'll be using it for gaming a lot, between xbox/ps3/lolwii.

That shit was gone within 30 seconds >.>

I ended up just getting an LG model off of Amazon. It's not the greatest TV in the world but it's not for me and it will do just fine for the person I bought it for.

NewEgg had the same set for @499.99

Amazon Prime members (In which I am) got either free 2 day shipping or $3.99 for next day shipping. I figured what the hell for $3.99. I find it hard to believe it's gonna show up on a Saturday (Tomorrow) but that's what it's saying lol.. I've also been in the market for a new monitor and picked one of these up. There was an extra coupon which took another $20 off.

    Not bad IMO

It's not a bad TV. Samsung is known for good monitors/tv's.

Do some searching though you may be able to find a better deal on something else. As for crappy sounding speakers, MOST TV's aren't going to give you superb sound IMO.

I caved and bought the $750 LED-LCD from Newegg. I figured I'd make an investment since I have no plans of changing TV's anytime in the next three years.

The reviews I read were all 5 Star with no cons at all. It has 4 HDMI's plus 2 component which is enough for me and my massive amount of technology in my room hah. I had wanted to upgrade my monitor too, but I guess that'll wait till January.

I had it in my cart and got through checkout but when my card got charged it was out of stock this morning. I thought this was kind of cool. I know it will likely come w/ some stipulations but I am always buying PC hardware from the egg so it's fine by me. Thought it nice and just wanted to share.
