I'm guessing general is the overall intractable things and background could be the sky, mountains in the distance, and such? This is speculation though.

edit: I wonder in the 2011 early update when there adding a search function it looks like if /sea all will be there. Probably insecure that if everyone knows they're player base is stagnant/decreasing less people would play and plan on adding it then because they might actually have people to use it. If not we should probably yell for it in every interview <_<

edit 2: Though the nearby area one was dumb and shouldn't have happened at all. Without a search function and now a lack of seeing who is nearby how do we even know our shouts are reaching anyone? :/

Epic update all around, though I don't get why they felt the need to take the nerf bat to some of the upgraded mainhand crafting tools. Also, WTF @ Bronze Arrows still needing Cedar Shafts but w/e...


THANK YOU SE, btw, for fucking changing a lot of the nugget recipes from Fire Crystals to Fire Shards. They didn't do it to Silver or Iron, which sucks, but at least I can make cheap bronze and brass now without having to fret over crystals for Iron & Silver. Also means I can go back to using some of the (much) cheaper bronze recipes to skill up on. Also, 20% reduction to crystal consumption across the board? Nice. BSM is a total shard guzzler/dumpster.

Probably need to adjust the new graphics settings. I know mine defaulted pretty high. Don't know if it does for everyone.

I had them both on highest.. I cant tell the difference besides the lower FPS.

Also gonna keep using default font until we can change the size on the Windows fonts. :/

LOL at the beginning it now asks you if you want to continue playing FFXIV I thought it was just accept? Must be a legality issue or something dumb but its funny as fuck to just say no.

Holy fuck... put those settings back on standard and capped FPS in town. I cannot dip lower than 55 even if theres not that many people logged in thats still ridiculous. O_O

Menus have a very noticeable improvement but theres still a delay when getting to inventory.

You can remap the keyboard ingame. Just so you guys know. Toggle chat-specific keyboard to off. Then go to keyboard settings and you can edit everything.

Click on an item and then toggle sort.

So can anyone confirm that if you take the controller-keyboard option you can't map Target Player 1,2,3,4,PC,NPC to the Fkeys? That would make me epic sad if this were true
