Well I was talking about us EU players complaining. We usually got shafted in the past because we either had to wait 6 more months from the US release to see the game or not see it completely.
Now SE keeps releasing exclusive CE editions for Europe so I can't really say anything anymore.

Yeah, I know over the years EU has gotten screwed on release dates and what not, I don't see why they bother with the regional special editions at all. Just release the same one all over the place. It's not like the PSP is region encoded.

Ya gotta make sure to have the multi language instruction manuals. Wouldn't want to discriminate.

this game is out in japan.. and its jp iso is out too.
interesting thing is it comes with an English language option...

vids of it popping up on youtube. The new spell effects are really nice, as are the death animations, eidolon auras, etc.

i found some cutscenes odd.. its primarily like the GBA one but with some original 3d polygon cutscenes...

I still like the DS version better, dunno why they decided to take a step back.

Was probably easier to just have an artist or two redo all the 2d assets than it would be to remake After years and the core game with 3d visuals also.
(FF4 DS is way below PSP 3d standards)

The script feels pretty terrible compared to FF4DS, too. =/

Yeah, the script in the DS version is far more advanced. It seems like they just took the old SNES version and put Wonderswan-like graphics on top of it...

i suppose this is what they mean by being more true to the original...
fans of the SNES version would be happy, i guess.

its visually more appealing than the horrible 3D that the DS puts out tho..

gotta admit that this version is the most gorgeous HD2D FF yet. you can see progression from 1 & 2s HD2D thru fluidity of animation and the other layer effects..

didn't expect myself to say it but I'm actually hoping they'll go back and do something like this for FF3 to do justice to the original game.

Is the augment system included in this game? It's what made the NDS version worth playing in the first place.
Regarding the script, since this is the JP version, could it be a simple "Engrish" one that will replaced by a better translation in the actual NA/EU versions?

I'm wonder about that to. Personally I hated the augment system (If it ain't broke, don't fix it), however I am curious if they brought that back and/or the extra dungeons from the GBA version.

Don't know for sure but I don't think the augment system is there, but the GBA dungeons should be.

Makes sense I suppose, the PSP versions of FF1 and FF2 had the bonus content from the GBA ports and then some.

Also in case anyone isn't aware, if you own this and Dissidia 012 you unlock a promo costume for Cecil called "Knight of the Twin Moon" that takes the appearance of his sprites.

For a huge as hell pic (1417x1492):

apparently post-game content from GBA is retained, as well as the party swapping. no mention of the DS version at all.
I think the only thing they took from that was the new OST.

Is it safe to assume that the game/localization will go untouched for the NA release?

I would guess so, but why wouldn't they be ready to go with the overseas versions? They're only a few weeks apart.

Well it's nice to hear that at least some of the bonus content is in. I would've liked the two extra bosses from the DS version too tbh but I guess the GBA version is fine. TAY has no additional stuff I assume?

Hate to break it to ya, but you're probably at the end of it already. Just beaten it myself in 90min

Anyone else think this looks horrible btw?

[EDIT] God, the sound effect they use for the door getting on my nerves. Just a loud CRUNCH sound. Sound effects in general are a bit too loud, wish it had a sfx/music volume slider.

After Years first impression is that they dramatically lowered the mob encounter rate as well as the difficulty level from the Wii release. Hope it's true as I couldn't be arsed to finish it pass the prologue before.

Auto-battle is awesome if only for speeding up the game 2x while it's engaged. I actually bother with weak kills now since they're over in no time.

A co-worker told me today they released the DS version on the iTunes. I can't remember if she said it was the 3D version or a 2D one.
