I actually laughed when I noticed this was the last updated thread in the games section on the front page. Did not disappoint.

... God I've gotten so cynical about this title. I think its some kind of conspiracy.. I think I'm gunna look into this.

Jesus Christ, they could just release it on this generation and be done with it. Hearing anything about this game now is just more and more angering.

Oh idk, because the game hasn't come anywhere close to an actual release for how long now? At this point I'll believe it when I see actual evidence of it.

On the other hand it seems like we're gonna be getting PS4 sooner rather than later. Don't get me wrong, I already said it would be a great move. But Versus' development history so far doesn't give me much hope.

so basically every game Square Enix has released? (since 2010 >.>) as much as i like Square something fishy is really going on up in there head office as of late

They've already developed (or not developed) themselves into a corner, nothing the game could do will make it worth the ridiculous wait.

It would be in their best interests to just keep their mouths completely shut about this project until there's a reasonable roadmap. Until then, all news is bad news.

I keep thinking that as soon as FFXIV is already re-launched and LR:FFXIII is right around the corner is when we're going to start seeing Versus info trickle in. At that point they have absolutely nothing major on the horizon and 2 brand spanking new consoles that are just dying for games.

Don't be fooled. PS4 is coming out before end of the year. Versus XIII (with or without the name) getting shifted over to that console sounds more likely than not. If it hasn't been already.

Really depends on their business folks if they want to risk putting it out on next-gen platforms early in their cycle, vs. the established 100 million+ some PS3/360 combined.

Hmm, derp'd. For some reason, I thought this most recent "news" was from an official source since I've seen it mentioned on like 5 different sites.

Yeah just a rumor! But still.... I see anything with versus xiii in the title and it grabs my attention and inevitably leads to disappointment

Logic wise would be to hold it off for next-gen because it's been this long in development.

If its really an organic Next gen title then it makes complete sense while its gone off the radar for soo long. If its an upscale next gen type of game then it's just an excuse on SEs part, but I don't see them doing that w/their FF flagship for a new game. The decision to make it a ps4 game would have to of been decided a while ago and then they [for many reasons] can't publicly talk about the game until after the new consoles are officially announced.

Either way anything about the game is really a rumor until actually footage is shown

^ this is still all we got. And from the little bit of gameplay there it looks 5x better than any RPG we've seen this generation. :/
