This, I would much rather have Guy Ritchie go back to his roots with gangster films and continuing the RocknRolla movies than do more Sherlock Holmes.

This movie was amazing too. A lot of critics were bad mouthing it or some shit, but I loved the entire thing. Thought it was loads better then the 1st and the 1st was amazing too so this just upped the ante.

This one was more action oriented, while the first was a pure mystery type story. Depends what you like.

    Just saw this tonight.

    Spoiler: show
Was disappointed that Irene was killed off so early, I really liked the way she toyed with Holmes' emotions in the first movie and kept him intrigued - but only just enough. Rather loved the ending, I nearly shit my pants when he jumped off that chair.

    Really enjoyed it.

Was how I felt about it.
    Spoiler: show
Was hoping for a little more 'getting into Holmes psyche' like the first one did and going at an even pace, but I wasn't disappointed with how this one played out also.

I either don't go to movie theaters often (because they bloody expensive vs. buying it on bluray), but either the showing was spectacularly loud, or my ears are getting more sensitive as I get older.

It seems like movies are just tending to get more loud lately, most of the time it's unnecessary but what can you do

I saw this last Thursday. It was good, but as said above, it was more action-oriented and less mystery.

I surprisingly didn't care for Moriarty. He was too overt in this film, much different than the stories portray him. Of course, he's only in two stories, so any real screen time like this movie showed would make him appear overt to me.

    Moriarty details under spoiler...
    Spoiler: show
I don't expect a criminal mastermind to have such material interests, and the idea of him buying up war supplies and then inciting a world war in this movie was almost silly to me. I have to go back to the stories, but I don't remember him being anything other than a resource for other criminals to use for their interests. I remember his joy was in using his brilliance to help other criminals wreak havoc on the world, hence why no one (except Holmes) ever traced anything back to him.
