So I am seeing some weird "stitching" on my screen. At first I thought I was seeing things but now I have evidence. Is this supposed to be happening or do I have a bad video card? Drivers used are 310.33 on gtx 660 stock settings. You will have to view image then zoom to see it, but it is pretty visible in game w/o much zoom. I suck at taking pictures. Edit: Rolled back my drivers and I still see it.
The roof in FFXIV looks really bad, hard to see in this picture. The foliage is bad too. You can really see some stitching looking effects when moving.
I am finding the correct word to describe the effect is grainy and apparently, that is just how all games look.
Wasn't sure if this deserved it's own thread, so I'll post it here. Got the Steelseries GW2 headset for my birthday, but I'm having some problems with the mic. I can listen to music through the headphones with no trouble. I've been testing it both with the Windows sound recording tool, and the settings in Ventrilo, but it doesn't seem to pick up anything but static unless I scream into the mic (which will result in being able to hear myself on playback, but very very quiet), or if I blow directly into it. This is with my mic boost cranked all the way up. EVGA P55SLI mobo with Realtek audio drivers downloaded directly from EVGA. I was using a USB headset previously, and never had this kind of problem. Any help would be appreciated.
Edit: I originally thought it was a problem with the headset itself, so I returned it and got a replacement. Still having the same problem with the second headset.
Hello. These laptops are priced about the same (£400-450. Around $700) and would like to know please. Are they are worth the money? Would like to play recent games: both on and offline. What sort of settings will I be able to run? Med, high? I understand I will get more for my money with a desktop, but want a laptop basically as it suits my day-to-day!
Anybody have any recommended websites please as I am really just looking on Ebay.
Don't wish to really spend more than £50 give or take ($80). But won't just dismiss every other possible purchase.
Thanks.
Added links, as I have not really given much info re specs. Thanks again.

Best buy has Windows 8 32/64 for 69.99. I'm in the store now, hoping for a quick response. I need to upgrade my 33bit Vista to use my 8gb of RAM. I also need to be able to play my league of legends, ffxiv, etc and am unsure about compatibility. Should I pick up the OS now? Is this even a good price?
Windows 8 pro actually. Going to assimilate the "pro" is upgrading the windows 8 you already own?
When it launched there were upgrade offers for $15. Can't say about program compatibility, you'd probably have to look those up individually. Reviews seem really mixed, might want to move to 7 for a bit until the first service pack for 8 drops.
Took a quick look around the internet and Windows 8 still seems cheaper than buying windows 7. Also appears that most stuff I play will run in compatibility mode.
Are there any windows programs that can make it easier to move a mouse between two monitors of different resolutions? Specifically, i'd like to have the position of the cursor adjusted to the same relative position when switching, and also be able to switch at the bottom of the larger monitor, where there is nothing on the smaller one.
I've got a few ideas already but, what would be the cheapest and most hassle free way to record the audio channel from my cable provider?
Available outputs RCA and HDMI.
I want to record stereo but I'm unsure if my line in allows for stereo sound.
P.S. Only have laptops / smartphones.
Trying to find a new browser to use. Every one I use fails me for one reason or another.
Mozilla: Perfect but eats up a ton of memory
Palemoon: Random websites don't work. Flash randomly doesn't work on some sites. No idea what the fuck is wrong.
Waterfox: Flash doesn't work on random sites. Like palemoon, it works fine on some sites, but on other sites it just doesn't work.
Chrome: Aesthetically ugly as shit. Flash video doesn't stay full screen. No plugins/addons fix this problem and it's a serious issue.
Any ideas? I really don't want to use IE because everything else is fucked up in some way.
I'd try opera or safari
Opera looks ugly as shit. At least palemoon and waterfox loaded my superior firefox settings.
Download more ram and use firefox.

Hoping to grab a new video card on black friday, thinking of a 660ti or maybe 7950. Trying to lean more towards nvidia rather than amd. Loved my 5870 for the longest time but in most games the shadows are f'ed up. Not sure if that's still an issue in the 7xxx series or not. Hoping they will go around the 200 mark
