Pretty much what was quoted above. Touch ID/Fingerprint scanner will unlock the phone if someone grabs your finger and places it on the scanner. So if you are asleep, they can unlock it with your finger. With the iPhone X at least from what I've experienced, your eyes have to be opened and looking at the phone unless you turn off attentiveness in the phone settings to speed up Face ID unlock. This prevents anyone from taking your phone and unlocking it while you are asleep by pointing it at your face.

Adding multiple passwords to your phone necessarily makes it less secure. The argument for fingerprint sensors or face-scanning isn't security, it's convenience.

It is not difficult to argue that the face-scan technology is less convenient than the fingerprint sensor.

That is certainly the easiest, but you still have to press the button to turn it on (fingerprint/faceid also serves that purpose,) so it is not much easier than fingerprints.
