I am pretty sure you discovered a rounding issue. If you floor the dSTAT term or the other term after fTP, you get 882 as your answer. I was doing the tests with even dSTAT amounts and no MAB/MDB, so there was no reason for me to floor.

If you want to compare WSs it is necessary to consider every hit of the WS, which is what 7 fTP vs. 5.5 fTP means. fTP is a severe misnomer at this point, considering "fTP" is not always a function of TP, but it is what everyone uses and people would be confused if we changed it at this point.

A constant function is still a function

a ok indeed flooring the dSTAT... i missed the multiplier were not round. thanks, indeed im getting correct results now, but still i was much more expecting dSTAT being player chr vs mob's CHR, not mob's INT... or player's INT vs mob's INT ? (same for Wildfire btw)

It is unusual in terms of our understanding of the game until last week, but it has apparently been true since the introduction of these weaponskills. Studio Gobli claims every NI WS has an irregular dSTAT term. Also, Wildfire is (Player AGI - Monster INT), is it not?

If you're worried about fTP changing, you could use Sekkanoki for your tests.

Save the file. When you have a table from excel or some other source that you wish to post in table format, copy the table, open the program, and paste the table. Hit conv and then hit "copy with code/code" and you're ready to paste that into your post. I gave the program a whirl and the lineup is sometimes still funky (lol) but generally the table lines up.

    Code:
Fast Cast	Cast Time	Oh Noes
    4324	224	2323
    23233	345	2323
    4556	34234	122
    35476556	424	43354
    454543	545434	2342
    4545646	456546	2453
    4646	32434	434
    Code:
Fast Cast Cast Time Oh Noes
    4324 224 2323
    23233 345 2323
    4556 34234 122
    35476556 424 43354
    454543 545434 2342
    4545646 456546 2453
    4646 32434 434
Hmmm not sure this is working right. I'll be back once I ask a certain someone wtf is up.

Figuring out the Fast Cast on pieces with Haste has been kind of a constant problem. Let me propose this solution and see if people can break it:

    Weakness = 100% Slow
Gear Haste cap = 25% Haste
Both numbers are exact and 100%+Slow-Haste = Haste recast modifier, so with capped gear Haste and weakness you net +75% recast (3/4, so no rounding for recasts divisible by 4).

    60 seconds +75% recast = 105 seconds exactly.

So if you cap Haste with the Fast Cast/Haste Piece on, you can treat Reraise as a spell with a 105 second Recast, ignore Haste, and proceed calculating Fast Cast potency as normal.

Anyone have a good way outside of ballista of determining player/pet mdb/sdt? Assuming I don't know it's int of course.

    Player or Player pet?

For SDT, use breath attacks. If you're worried about inherent MDT, check varying elements of breath attacks. Most breath attacks cap off at a certain value, so having the mob use the move at high HP should yield consistent damage.

Bst pets. As far as mdt goes I've already figured that out so it's easy to find. As far as the bombs go I take it self destruct is only effected by mdt/mdb? And monster breath attacks are unaffected by mdb and base stats right? So I could just put my main behind it to compare dmg to figure out sdt? Also suggestions for where to find breaths for each element?

Monster breath should be unaffected by MDB, yes.

    Radiant Breath: Wyverns
Heat Breath: Manticore (NM @ Tahrongi spams that)
    Frost Breath: Raptors

Balaur also has a range of breath attacks: http://bg-wiki.com/bg/Balaur

Firiar's lanterns cast magic. They can use 4 or 5 spells.

Ideally I'd want something that doesn't use a base stat comparision as I neither know the monsters nor my pets base stats. Then I could use something like that to determine pet int once I know mdb

Best way to determine "Inc. Resistance to all Ailments" gear?

Cap out a resist trait (so you are exactly at cap), subtract a known quantity and replace it with "Inc. Resistance to all Ailments" gear. See how much Resist +X it replaces, and that's its potency.

I'd recommend using Resist Paralyze, monsters with Ice Spikes, and a K-club. There is a lot of Resist Paralyze gear and Atma, so I'd be surprised if you can't hit 100% and become immune to Paralyze:

No K-club, but even if I did have one, I would have to be present to turn once the status ailment went into effect right?

If you're trying to figure out how to automate it, I don't know how you'd do that. You could maybe do it if you can find something with an Aura you can stand near (Afflictors in Beadeaux are the only thing that spring to mind, and there isn't enough resist curse gear).

You could certainly engage monsters with ice spikes and hit them a bunch while afk, then return and check your chat log for paralyze wearing off.
