I ask because I find myself doing more and more AVCHD video editing (very very heavy CPU-intensive video compression algorithm) and I just purchased Vegas Pro 10.0 which allows for multi-camera editing. The problem is, doing multi-cam AVCHD editing is bringing my current CPU to its knees. I am getting perhaps 5 FPS while playing back 3 simultaneous video streams. So, if anyone has advice on whether it would be worth upgrading to the Core 2 Quad to boost the frame rate to something manageable I'd love to hear it.
Thanks!
